The SKF 6300 /C3 deep groove ball bearing (10x35x11 mm) is an open, single-row rolling bearing with C3 clearance, allowing for thermal expansion.
The SKF 6300/C3 deep groove ball bearing is a single-row bearing made from standard roller bearing steel (100Cr6) with a 10 mm bore, 35 mm outer diameter and 11 mm width. As an open design without integrated sealing washers, it allows unhindered access of lubricant within a sealed housing. Designs with rotating shafts benefit from the radial load-carrying capacity and the guidance provided by the sheet steel cage. This component is suitable for drives and gearboxes where operating speeds and thermal influences combine.
This single-row deep groove ball bearing primarily accommodates radial and moderate axial forces and is best suited for use in protected installations. Typical applications include electric motors, pumps and gearboxes where lubrication is supplied via a central oil circuit or housing grease. As it does not use ablative seals, the bearing operates with minimal frictional resistance. The permissible temperature range is from -20 to +150 degrees.
The designation C3 indicates a slightly increased radial clearance compared with the standard version. This additional internal clearance between the rolling elements and raceways compensates for dimensional changes when the shaft heats up during operation or when fixed bearing seats cause the inner ring to expand. At normal temperatures without a thermal gradient, standard clearance is often sufficient. Manufactured to tolerance class P0 or ABEC 1, this model meets the standard accuracy requirements of general mechanical engineering.
The bearing has an inner diameter of 10 mm, an outer diameter of 35 mm and a width of 11 mm. It is a single-row roller bearing with a cylindrical bore and an outer ring without a flange or groove. The integrated cage is made of sheet steel.
The designation C3 indicates a larger radial bearing clearance than with standard clearance. This is intended to prevent the rolling elements from seizing up if operational heating causes the shaft to expand thermally or if tight fits cause the inner ring to expand. As a result, the bearing retains its mobility even when there are slight temperature differences between the inner and outer rings.
As this bearing does not have integrated seals, it is not permanently filled with grease as standard. Before commissioning, it must be supplied with a suitable lubricant – either oil or grease – inside the housing. The open design allows for the continuous replacement of the lubricant in the case of circulating oil lubrication or regular relubrication.
The permissible temperature range for this bearing is between -20 and +150 degrees. Both the rings and the rolling elements are made of standard 100Cr6 rolling-bearing steel, combined with a sheet steel cage. For use at elevated temperatures, care must be taken to ensure that a thermally compatible lubricant is used.
P0, or ABEC 1, defines the standard accuracy class for dimensional and running error tolerances in industrial mechanical engineering. Roller bearings in this class offer the required running accuracy for standardised industrial applications and workshop requirements without the need for specially selected precision versions.
The inner ring, outer ring and balls are made from standard roller bearing steel of the 100Cr6 grade. This material is characterised by its strength and resilience under cyclic rolling loads. Together with the sheet steel cage, this creates a robust structure capable of withstanding mechanical loads.
