The FAG 627-2Z deep groove ball bearing, with a 7 mm bore, 22 mm outer diameter and cover plates on both sides, offers protection against coarse dirt particles.
This single-row FAG 627-2Z deep groove ball bearing primarily accommodates radial loads whilst also supporting low axial forces in both directions. The inner and outer rings, as well as the balls, are made from case-hardened 100Cr6 rolling-bearing steel. With its compact dimensions – a 7 mm bore, 22 mm outer diameter and 7 mm width – the design fits neatly into housings whilst saving space. A sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements evenly into the deep grooved raceways.
Compact roller bearings of this size are suitable for precision shaft mountings where minimal installation space and low friction torque are required. As the rolling elements are protected on both sides by non-contact gap seals, the rotational resistance remains low, which facilitates smooth running at higher speeds. The component is designed for a temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees Celsius and retains its dimensional stability within the bearing assembly.
The two metal cover plates seal the interior on both sides and keep dirt and larger dust particles away from the raceways. As the sheet metal covers do not come into contact with the inner ring, no additional heat is generated due to friction during continuous operation. The bearing is manufactured with standard radial clearance and to the standardised tolerance class P0 or ABEC 1. The cylindrical outer ring, which has no groove or flange, allows for direct mounting in a smooth housing bore.
The ball bearing has an inner diameter of 7 mm, an outer diameter of 22 mm and a total width of 7 mm. The outer surface is smooth and cylindrical and has no flange or retaining groove.
The suffix -2Z denotes cover plates made of sheet steel fitted on both sides. These gap seals retain the grease within the component and protect against the ingress of dirt particles, without generating additional frictional heat through sliding contact.
The bearing is designed with a standard radial clearance, which is tailored to standard fit conditions. This radial clearance compensates for minor thermal expansion during operation, provided there are no excessive temperature differences between the inner and outer rings.
The permissible operating range extends from -30 to +120 degrees Celsius. The bearing materials, comprising 100Cr6 rolling-element bearing steel, a sheet steel cage and sheet metal end plates, are designed for operation within these temperature limits.
A sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements into the raceways at a uniform spacing. This standard cage design is characterised by its low weight and is suitable for typical speed requirements.
The manufacture complies with tolerance class P0 or ABEC 1. This accuracy class meets the standard requirements for dimensional accuracy and concentricity for standard bearings used in mechanical engineering and equipment manufacturing.
