The FAG 62307 -2RSR deep-groove ball bearing, with sliding seals on both sides and dimensions of 35 x 80 x 31 mm, protects the bearing housing from contamination.
This single-row deep groove ball bearing 62307 -2RSR from FAG is made from 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel. Thanks to its wide 31 mm design, the bearing reliably absorbs radial forces as well as axial forces on both sides. The contact seals fitted on both sides help to keep dirt particles and moisture out of the bearing interior. With a sheet steel cage and standard radial clearance, this ball bearing meets a wide range of requirements for rotating shafts.
Design engineers and maintenance personnel primarily use the 62307 -2RSR deep groove ball bearing where the installation space requires an increased bearing width. This design is suitable for bearing arrangements subject primarily to radial loads, where moderate axial forces are also present. Typical applications include shaft mountings and industrial gearboxes where dusty or damp environmental conditions require a sliding seal for the bearing housing.
The 2RSR design features abiding rubber sealing lips mounted on both sides. These abiding sealing discs lie directly against the inner ring and keep dirt and splash water away from the raceway system. At the same time, the lubricant remains within the bearing chamber. For the temperature range from -20 to +100 degrees, this design offers a practical solution. As the sealing lips rest against the inner ring, friction is generated compared with open bearings; this should be taken into account when determining the rotational speed.
The dimensions are 35 mm bore diameter, 80 mm outer diameter and 31 mm overall width. The outer ring is cylindrical in design and has neither a flange nor a groove.
The designation 2RSR refers to abiding sealing rings made of elastomeric material, fitted on both sides. These abiding seals seal the gap between the inner and outer rings, reduce the ingress of dirt and retain grease within the bearing housing.
The roller bearing is manufactured with standard radial clearance (standard clearance CN). This design is suitable for standard fit conditions and operating conditions where there are no thermal differences between the shaft and the housing.
The permissible operating temperature range is from -20 to +100 degrees. This range is essentially limited by the material of the sealing lips and the lubricant used.
A guided sheet steel cage maintains a uniform distance between the rolling elements. This material is characterised by its dimensional stability and resistance to lubricants during operation.
The bearings are manufactured to the standard tolerance class P0 (PN), which corresponds to ABEC 1. This precision grade is intended for standard industrial bearing applications without increased accuracy requirements.
