The FAG 6226 deep-groove ball bearing is an open, single-row rolling bearing measuring 130 x 230 x 40 mm, designed to withstand radial loads.
The 6226 deep-groove ball bearing is a classic rolling bearing designed for demanding industrial applications with a shaft diameter of 130 mm. Manufactured from standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6, this single-row bearing withstands high radial forces whilst simultaneously supporting axial forces in both directions. The open design, without integrated sealing washers, allows for flexible lubrication with oil or grease within protected housings.
The 6226 deep groove ball bearing is primarily used in industrial drives, heavy machinery and rotating systems with a shaft diameter of 130 mm. With a continuous supply of lubricant via external lubrication systems, the open design is particularly suitable for higher operating speeds, as the absence of contact seals means no additional frictional heat is generated. The precisely guided sheet steel cage maintains a uniform spacing between the rolling elements and effectively reduces rolling resistance.
In the open design, the surrounding housing structure provides protection against the ingress of dirt particles or moisture. This design allows for unimpeded lubricant circulation around the rolling elements and raceways. With the standard radial clearance and standard tolerance class P0 (ABEC 1), the bearing is designed for common fits and thermal conditions between –30 and +150 degrees Celsius. The outer ring is cylindrical in design, without a flange or groove, and sits flush with the bearing seat.
The bearing has an inner diameter of 130 mm, an outer diameter of 230 mm and a width of 40 mm. These standardised key dimensions determine the required shaft fit and the housing bore in your design.
The open design, without sealing or cover rings, allows lubricating oil to flow freely or enables the use of customer-specific greases. As there are no sealing lips in contact with the inner ring, no additional friction is generated. This promotes smooth running at higher speeds within sealed housings.
Standard radial bearing clearance refers to the radial play specified by the manufacturer when the bearing is in its unassembled state. This operating clearance allows for thermal expansion of the components during operation, thereby preventing unwanted stresses or increased operating temperatures within the rolling bearing.
This roller bearing is designed for ambient temperatures between -30 and +150 degrees Celsius. The 100Cr6 material and the sheet steel cage retain their dimensional stability within this range, provided that the selected lubricant is suitable for these thermal conditions.
The sheet steel cage guides the balls evenly along the raceway and prevents the rolling elements from coming into contact with one another. It combines a low weight with sufficient strength to withstand acceleration forces and can easily withstand the bearing’s entire operating temperature range.
The bearing is manufactured to the standard tolerance P0 (equivalent to PN and ABEC 1). This accuracy class meets the requirements of general drive and mechanical engineering and enables reliable installation on ground shafts and in precision-turned housing seats.
