FAG deep groove ball bearing 6222, dimensions 110x200x38 mm: Single-row, open roller bearing made from 100Cr6 steel for radial and axial loads.
The 6222 deep-groove ball bearing is a robust, single-row rolling bearing from FAG for industrial drives and machinery. With an inside diameter of 110 mm, an outside diameter of 200 mm and a width of 38 mm, this design primarily accommodates radial forces as well as axial loads in both directions. Manufactured from tried-and-tested rolling-bearing steel (100Cr6) and available in tolerance class P0 (ABEC 1), it ensures smooth running during normal operation.
This 6222 deep groove ball bearing is primarily used in rotating industrial drives and conventional shaft mountings. Thanks to the combination of a 110 mm shaft diameter and a robust cross-sectional geometry, the bearing is suitable for designs involving continuous rotational movement. As the outer ring is cylindrical with no flange or ring groove, the component fits directly into standardised housing bores.
The open design without integrated sealing washers is suitable for installation environments with external housing seals or continuous oil lubrication. The lubricant can circulate unhindered around the rolling elements and raceways and dissipate operating heat. Furthermore, with its guided sheet steel cage, the rolling bearing covers a temperature range from -20 to +150 degrees. The standard radial bearing clearance helps to maintain the appropriate operating clearance for typical fit selections.
The bearing has a bore of 110 mm, an outer diameter of 200 mm and a width of 38 mm. These standardised key dimensions allow for a precise fit when mounting on shafts with a diameter of 110 mm in corresponding housing bores in mechanical and plant engineering.
In an open roller bearing, the rolling elements are exposed, as no seals or cover plates are fitted at the factory. This design reduces frictional resistance and requires a clean installation environment as well as a supply of lubricant via the surrounding housing.
The standard radial bearing clearance defines the radial play between the outer ring, the balls and the inner ring when the bearing is unmounted. It is designed to suit standard fits, so that once the bearing has been pressed onto the shaft and has reached operating temperature, a safe operating clearance is maintained.
The bearing is designed for a temperature range of -20 to +150 degrees. Within this range, the 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel and the sheet steel cage retain their dimensional stability. When designing the bearing, care must be taken to ensure that the selected external lubricant can also withstand these operating temperatures.
The sheet steel cage maintains an even spacing between the rolling elements and prevents the balls from coming into direct contact with one another. Sheet steel cages offer high strength combined with low mass, are resistant to lubricants and are designed for standard speeds in mechanical engineering.
The bearing is manufactured to the standard tolerance class P0 or PN, which corresponds internationally to the ABEC 1 classification. This tolerance class defines the permissible dimensional and runout tolerances for most industrial applications without increased precision requirements.
