The SKF 62207 -2RS1 deep groove ball bearing, measuring 35 x 72 x 23 mm, is protected against the ingress of dirt by seals on both sides.
The 62207 -2RS1 deep groove ball bearing is a single-row rolling bearing with a 35 mm bore, a 72 mm outer diameter and an extended width of 23 mm. Thanks to this wider design, the component offers an increased internal volume for lubricant. Manufactured from standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6 and fitted with a sheet steel cage, the bearing accommodates radial forces as well as axial loads in both directions. The design complies with the standard tolerance class P0/PN.
This deep-groove ball bearing is suitable for applications where rotating shafts need to be protected against the ingress of dust, moisture or dirt particles. Typical applications can be found in general mechanical engineering as well as in bearing arrangements subject to combined radial and axial forces. With an operating temperature range of -20 to +120 degrees, the bearing is designed for thermally demanding environmental conditions, whilst the cylindrical outer ring without a groove allows for direct installation in smooth housing bores.
The designation 2RS1 stands for abutment seals fitted on both sides. These sealing lips rest directly against the inner ring and retain lubricant inside the bearing whilst keeping out external particles. In combination with the standard radial bearing clearance (CN), this model is designed for standard operating conditions without excessive thermal expansion. The integrated sealing eliminates the need for additional sealing measures on the housing.
The bearing has an internal diameter of 35 mm, an external diameter of 72 mm and a width of 23 mm. Compared with the 6207 basic series, the 62207 series has an increased bearing width, which must be taken into account when designing the bearing seat and shaft shoulders.
The designation 2RS1 indicates contact seals fitted on both sides. These sliding sealing lips seal the rolling element chamber against moisture and solid contaminants. At the same time, they help to retain the lubricant inside the bearing.
The component has the standard radial bearing clearance (CN). This standard bearing clearance is suitable for standard mounting fits and typical operating temperatures, where no significant thermal expansion of the shaft relative to the housing is to be expected.
The permissible operating range is between -20 and +120 degrees Celsius. The seals and the sheet steel cage are designed to withstand this temperature range, enabling the unit to be used in industrial environments within these limits.
The rings and balls are made from standard 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel. The cage for the rolling elements is made from sheet steel, which gives the single-row ball bearing high dimensional stability whilst keeping its weight low.
The ball bearing complies with the standard tolerance class P0 or PN, which is also known internationally as ABEC 1. This manufacturing precision precisely meets the requirements of conventional industrial applications and general mechanical engineering.
