The FAG 62204 -2RSR deep-groove ball bearing, measuring 20x47x18 mm, offers a spacious internal chamber and protection against dirt particles on both sides.
The 62204 -2RSR deep groove ball bearing is a single-row rolling bearing designed for combined radial and axial loads. Compared to standard bearings with the same bore, this version has an increased width of 18 mm. Manufactured from standard rolling-element bearing steel 100Cr6, the design features a sheet steel cage and standard radial clearance. The bearing operates reliably within a temperature range of -20 to +100 degrees Celsius. It is manufactured to tolerance class P0 or ABEC 1.
Design engineers and maintenance technicians prefer to use this design where, in addition to radial load-bearing capacity, reliable protection against environmental influences is required. Typical applications include shaft bearings in general mechanical engineering subject to combined loads. Thanks to the seals that seal on both sides, the lubricant remains trapped inside the bearing, whilst dirt particles and moisture are prevented from reaching the raceways. The cylindrical outer ring, without a flange or groove, fits precisely into standardised housing bores.
The designation 2RSR stands for two sealing discs that make contact on both sides. These sealing lips make contact with the inner ring and help to reduce the ingress of particles and moisture. Unlike open bearings, there is no need for additional external sealing elements. When designing the bearing, the circumferential speed of the sealing lip and the permissible temperature range must be taken into account. In conjunction with the standard radial bearing clearance, the bearing runs stably on shafts with a diameter of 20 mm.
This roller bearing has an inner diameter of 20 mm, an outer diameter of 47 mm and a width of 18 mm. Thanks to its increased width of 18 mm, the design provides additional space for lubricant inside the bearing.
This designation indicates sliding seals fitted on both sides. These sealing lips make direct contact with the inner ring. They retain the grease applied at the factory within the bearing housing and protect the rolling elements and raceways from contamination and splash water.
The permissible operating range is between -20 and +100 degrees Celsius. This range is primarily limited by the material of the abating sealing lips and the lubricant. For applications within these temperature limits, the component offers the dimensional stability of standard 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel.
Standard radial bearing clearance refers to the specified operating clearance between the rolling elements and raceways in their initial state. It is designed for standard fit selections on shafts and housings, as well as for moderate operating temperatures.
The bearing complies with tolerance classes P0 or PN and ABEC 1. This specification sets out standardised requirements regarding concentricity and dimensional accuracy for industrial applications.
Both the inner and outer rings, as well as the rolling elements, are made from standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6. The rolling elements are guided by a sheet steel cage, which ensures mechanical stability.
