The FAG 6215 -2Z deep groove ball bearing, measuring 75x130x25 mm, features gap seals on both sides for a wide range of industrial applications.
The FAG 6215-2Z deep groove ball bearing is a single-row rolling bearing made from standard bearing steel 100Cr6, designed to withstand radial and axial loads. Fitted with a sheet steel cage and cover plates on both sides, the bearing is suitable for rotational movements in general mechanical engineering. With key dimensions of a 75 mm bore, 130 mm outside diameter and 25 mm width, this model fits perfectly into standardised housing seats. Designed for operating temperatures ranging from minus 30 to plus 120 degrees, this version is engineered to ensure smooth running.
This rolling bearing is suitable for rotating shafts subjected to combined radial and axial forces in industrial applications. The design primarily absorbs radial loads, but also guides the shaft stably when axial forces act on both sides. Thanks to the cylindrical outer ring without a flange or groove, the component can be fitted flush into standard housings. Maintenance engineers appreciate its straightforward handling during repairs and in new plant construction. As the rolling elements and rings are made from 100Cr6 bearing steel, the component can withstand continuous rotational movement.
The sheet metal covers on both sides act as non-contact gap seals. They protect the rolling elements from coarse dirt particles, whilst the lubricant remains inside the bearing. As there is no contact between the sealing lips and the inner ring, no additional frictional heat is generated. This allows for higher limit speeds compared to abiding seals. With the standard radial bearing clearance and tolerance class P0 in accordance with PN or ABEC 1, the design meets the usual requirements for interference fits at ambient and operating temperatures.
With an internal diameter of 75 mm, an external diameter of 130 mm and a width of 25 mm, this model complies with the standard dimensions for this size. The outer ring is cylindrical, without a flange or groove. These dimensions allow for a precise fit when mounted on suitable shafts and in cylindrical housing bores.
Sheet steel cover plates fitted on both sides define the 2Z suffix. These non-contact gap seals reduce the ingress of dirt particles and keep the lubricant inside the bearing. As there is no sliding contact with the inner ring, they are suitable for applications at higher speeds than contact lip seals.
This roller bearing is specified for an operating temperature range of minus 30 to plus 120 degrees Celsius. Within this range, the 100Cr6 roller bearing steel and the sheet steel cage retain their dimensional stability and load-carrying capacity. At ambient temperatures close to the limit values, the specifications of the lubricants used should be taken into account.
The standard radial clearance between the rolling elements and raceways when the bearing is in its unassembled state defines the normal radial bearing clearance. It is designed for conventional mounting conditions with standard fits, where there are no extreme temperature differences between the inner and outer rings. The operating clearance is precisely adjusted after installation.
The inner and outer rings, as well as the balls, are made from standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6, which offers high wear resistance. A sheet steel cage is used to guide the rolling elements, whilst the end plates are also made from sheet steel. This combination of materials ensures mechanical strength during continuous operation.
Standard dimensional and concentricity tolerances for standard industrial applications are defined by tolerance class P0 (PN or ABEC 1). This is entirely sufficient for the vast majority of applications in mechanical and plant engineering. Higher precision classes are only required for extreme speeds or specialised machine tools.
