The SKF 6215-Z deep groove ball bearing, with dimensions of 75 × 130 × 25 mm, is designed to support radial loads in a sealed housing.
The 6215-Z deep groove ball bearing is a single-row radial ball bearing made from standard roller bearing steel (100Cr6) for medium to high speeds. It primarily accommodates radial forces as well as axial loads in both directions. The SKF version complies with tolerance class P0 (ABEC 1). Maintenance and design engineers utilise the standardised dimensions of 75 mm inner diameter and 130 mm outer diameter, with a width of 25 mm, to ensure a precise fit when installing the bearing into existing assemblies.
This single-row deep-groove ball bearing accommodates combined radial and axial loads in rotating shaft arrangements. The geometry, featuring deep raceways, ensures even force distribution across the shaft and housing. As the outer ring is manufactured without a groove or flange, the component can be fitted flush into cylindrical housing bores. Its use is recommended where stable shaft guidance is required with normal radial clearance, without the need for additional axial flange fixing.
The single-sided cover shield protects the interior from coarse foreign particles, whilst the open opposite side allows targeted lubricant access into the housing. Designs with a closed housing side or lubricant supply from the rear utilise this partial protection. The integrated sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements and retains its dimensional stability within a temperature range of -20 to +150 degrees. It is fitted with the closed cover facing the side exposed to dirt, in order to protect the raceways from particle ingress.
With an internal bore of 75 mm, an external diameter of 130 mm and a width of 25 mm, the bearing complies with the standardised main dimensions. These dimensions allow for direct installation in suitable housings and on corresponding shafts. Both the rolling elements and the rings are made from standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6.
The designation ‘Z’ refers to a cover plate made of profiled sheet metal fitted on one side. This gap seal protects the interior of the bearing from coarse dirt particles without causing abrasive friction. The opposite side remains open, allowing lubricants from inside the housing to reach the rolling elements unhindered.
The bearing is designed with standard radial clearance. The internal radial clearance between the balls and raceways is optimised for standard fit conditions and typical operating temperatures. Under normal operating conditions, special thermal expansion or tight press fits do not generally require a higher bearing clearance class.
The permissible operating temperature ranges from -20 to +150 degrees. The integrated sheet steel cage retains its mechanical stability within this range and guides the rolling elements in the raceways. For continuous operation, care must be taken to ensure that the selected lubricant is also suitable for this temperature range.
Manufactured to tolerance class P0 or ABEC 1, the ball bearing meets the standard requirements for dimensional and concentricity accuracy. This design allows it to be fitted onto standard shafts and into cylindrical bearing seats without the need for time-consuming reworking of the mating parts.
