The FAG 6020 -2Z-C3 deep-groove ball bearing, with dimensions of 100x150x24 mm, sheet metal covers and a C3 clearance, provides a reliable bearing solution for demanding shaft arrangements.
The single-row deep-groove ball bearing 6020 -2Z-C3 from FAG accommodates radial forces as well as axial loads in both directions. Manufactured from standard roller bearing steel (100Cr6), this bearing has main dimensions of 100 mm inner diameter and 150 mm outer diameter, with a width of 24 mm. The design complies with standard tolerance P0/PN (ABEC 1). A guided sheet steel cage maintains the rolling elements at a uniform distance and ensures smooth running.
This rolling bearing is primarily used in rotating machine components and industrial drives. The cylindrical seat is suitable wherever shafts with a 100 mm diameter are mounted and medium to high speeds occur. Thanks to the gap seals on both sides, the lubricant remains within the bearing chamber whilst particles are kept out. With a temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees, the bearing operates stably even under fluctuating thermal conditions.
The suffixes provide information about the seal and radial bearing clearance. The designation 2Z stands for non-contacting sheet metal cover plates on both sides, which keeps friction low and generates hardly any additional heat. The abbreviation C3 indicates a slightly increased radial bearing clearance compared with the standard version. This design is recommended when a reduction in internal operating clearance needs to be compensated for, either due to tight fits on the shaft and housing or due to operational temperature differences between the inner and outer rings.
With an internal diameter of 100 mm, an external diameter of 150 mm and a width of 24 mm, the bearing complies with the standardised main dimensions for cylindrical shaft seats.
The suffix -2Z denotes sheet metal cover plates fitted on both sides. They form a narrow gap relative to the inner ring shoulder and protect the interior from dirt and dust. As the sealing elements operate without contact, no additional frictional torque is generated.
An increased radial clearance in Class C3 bearings serves to compensate for thermal expansion during operation. If the inner ring becomes warmer than the outer ring, or if a tight fit reduces the internal clearance, the C3 design helps to prevent the rolling elements from becoming stressed.
The permissible temperature range is from -30 to +120 degrees. This range is limited by the lubricant, the sheet steel cage and the end plates. This design therefore meets typical thermal requirements in continuous industrial operation.
Designed as a deep-groove ball bearing, this component primarily absorbs radial loads. Thanks to the raceways in the inner and outer rings, it is also suitable for absorbing axial forces in both directions, provided that no pure shear forces are present.
A sheet steel cage is integrated into the bearing, which guides the balls along the raceways at a uniform distance. It is lightweight and resistant to common industrial lubricants.
