The SKF 6007 deep groove ball bearing is an open rolling bearing with a 35 mm bore, a 62 mm outer diameter and a precise P6 tolerance class.
The SKF 6007 deep groove ball bearing is a versatile rolling bearing for industrial drive and machinery applications. As an open, single-row bearing, this component primarily accommodates radial loads as well as moderate axial loads in both directions. Manufactured from 100Cr6 standard rolling-bearing steel and designed to the Explorer performance class, the ball bearing combines high dimensional accuracy with robust service life. Maintenance and servicing teams appreciate the standardised mounting dimensions of 35x62x14 mm, which facilitate rapid component replacement.
This single-row deep-groove ball bearing 6007 is primarily used in rotating machine components with continuous rotational movement. Design engineers prefer to use the open design in oil-lubricated or separately sealed housings, where the lubricant reaches the rolling elements directly. As there are no contacting sealing discs to generate friction, the bearing runs smoothly within the defined temperature range of –20 to +120 degrees Celsius. The guided sheet steel cage maintains a uniform spacing between the rolling elements even during continuous motion.
Manufacture to tolerance class P6 (comparable to ABEC 3) indicates tighter dimensional and running tolerances compared with standard bearings. This results in improved concentricity, which reduces vibrations and enhances the smooth running of the assembly. In combination with the standard radial bearing clearance, the bearing is suitable for precisely guided shaft seats without significant thermal expansion. When designing the assembly, bear in mind the open design: this requires a clean installation environment and a suitable lubrication system using oil or rolling-element bearing grease.
The bearing has an inside diameter of 35 mm, an outside diameter of 62 mm and a width across flats of 14 mm. Thanks to these standardised key dimensions, the roller bearing can be fitted precisely into standardised bearing seats. Before installation, check the dimensions of the shaft and the housing to ensure the required fit is achieved.
The deep-groove ball bearing has no integrated seals or cover plates. The lubricant can circulate freely, making the bearing suitable for assemblies with external sealing or oil bath lubrication. With no friction from seals, the bearing operates with minimal rotational resistance, but requires protection against external dirt particles and moisture.
The standard radial bearing clearance refers to the factory-set radial clearance between the outer ring, inner ring and the balls when the bearing is unloaded. This design is suitable for standard operating conditions with moderate temperature differences between the shaft and the housing. This contributes to stable running without excessive preload or impermissible operating clearance.
The permissible temperature range for this roller bearing is between -20 and +120 degrees Celsius. Both the sheet steel cage and the 100Cr6 standard rolling bearing steel used are designed for this temperature range. Ensure that you select a lubricant whose operating temperature is also suited to this range.
The rings and rolling elements are made from standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6. This material is characterised by high wear resistance, dimensional stability and the ability to withstand compressive loads under rolling friction. The integrated cage is made from sheet steel, which combines a low weight with sufficient strength to ensure the safe guidance of the rolling elements.
Bearings in tolerance class P6 exhibit lower deviations in dimensional, geometric and running accuracy than standard versions. This results in more uniform concentricity and reduces vibration-induced noise in the system. Machine builders specifically select the P6 class for applications with increased requirements for the guiding precision of rotating shafts.
