The SKF deep groove ball bearing 6000 -2Z (10x26x8 mm) features non-contacting end shields, standard radial clearance and enhanced precision for a wide range of industrial applications.
The SKF 6000 -2Z single-row deep groove ball bearing is designed to handle predominantly radial loads as well as moderate axial loads in both directions. Manufactured from standard rolling-element bearing steel (100Cr6) in the SKF Explorer design, this bearing features an optimised internal geometry. A sturdy sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements evenly into the deep raceways. The compact main dimensions – with an inner diameter of 10 mm, an outer diameter of 26 mm and a width of 8 mm – allow for installation in space-constrained designs.
This radial ball bearing is designed for compact rotating assemblies and precise shaft mountings. Thanks to the non-contact gap seals, there are no additional friction losses, which makes it suitable for use at high speeds. The permissible temperature range is from –20 to +120 degrees Celsius. Maintenance engineers and designers prefer to use this bearing in designs where coarse particles need to be kept out without the torque being compromised by abrasive seals.
The suffix -2Z denotes cover plates made of sheet steel fitted on both sides. These protect the interior from particles and help to retain the lubricant. With dimensional accuracy to tolerance class P6 and running accuracy to P5, the component exceeds the standard level of normal industrial bearings. This promotes low-vibration operation and tighter guidance accuracy on the shaft. During assembly, it is recommended that the shaft and housing seats be matched to these higher accuracy classes in order to fully utilise the bearing’s running performance.
The bearing has an internal diameter of 10 mm, an external diameter of 26 mm and a width of 8 mm. The cylindrical outer ring has no flange or groove, which means the component can be fitted flush into cylindrical housing bores.
The designation -2Z refers to cover plates made of profiled sheet metal, fitted on both sides. These plates form a non-contact gap with the inner ring. They keep out larger contaminants and help retain lubricant within the bearing without generating additional heat through seal friction.
This classification specifies tighter manufacturing tolerances than the standard tolerance. The dimensional accuracy corresponds to Class P6, which means tighter tolerance ranges for bores and external diameters. The running accuracy corresponds to P5, which reduces runout deviations and promotes smooth running during operation.
This ball bearing features standard radial clearance (often designated as CN). This describes the radial clearance between the balls and the raceways when the bearing is unmounted. This design is suitable for standard fit combinations and operating conditions without unusually high shaft temperatures.
The permissible operating range is between -20 and +120 degrees Celsius. Both the 100Cr6 roller bearing steel and the sheet steel cage and metal end plates are designed for this temperature range, provided that the lubricant remains stable within this thermal window.
This is a roller bearing sealed on both sides. The sheet metal end caps on both sides mechanically seal the interior against external influences; however, they differ from abiding rubber seals in that they operate without contact, thus avoiding friction losses at the sealing lips.
