The single-row SKF deep groove ball bearing 6219 /C3 (95x170x32 mm) offers thermal reserves for demanding industrial drives thanks to its increased C3 clearance.
The 6219/C3 deep groove ball bearing is an open, single-row radial ball bearing made from 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel for industrial applications. With an inner diameter of 95 mm, an outer diameter of 170 mm and a width of 32 mm, this rolling bearing primarily absorbs radial forces and supports axial forces in both directions. Thanks to the integrated sheet steel cage, the design ensures low-vibration movement of the rolling elements. The open design allows for direct lubrication via the housing system within a temperature range of -20 to +150 degrees.
The 6219 /C3 deep groove ball bearing is primarily used in through-shaft mountings and industrial drives subject to combined radial and axial loads. The design is suitable for applications where external lubrication systems provide the lubricant supply. As the outer ring has no groove or flange, the component can be fitted flush into cylindrical housing bores. In shaft mountings with elevated operating temperatures, this design provides the necessary space to accommodate thermally induced material expansion.
The designation C3 indicates a slightly increased radial bearing clearance compared with the standard tolerance class. This additional clearance compensates for radial play when the inner ring and shaft are constricted by tight fits, or when high operating temperatures lead to temperature differences between the inner and outer rings. For your design, this means smooth running without premature jamming of the rolling elements. As the bearing is of an open design, a suitable housing seal is recommended to prevent the ingress of dirt and loss of lubricant during operation.
The bearing has an internal bore of 95 mm, an external diameter of 170 mm and a width of 32 mm. These dimensions correspond to the standardised main dimensions of the 6219 series. The outer ring is cylindrical in design and has neither a flange nor a retaining ring groove, meaning it is fitted into smooth housing bores.
The designation C3 indicates a larger radial bearing clearance in the initial state. This means that there is slightly more freedom of movement between the balls and the raceways than with standard clearance. This prevents stress build-up in the bearing when rings expand due to tight fits or varying operating temperatures.
Open deep-groove ball bearings do not come with integrated cover plates or sealing washers fitted by the manufacturer. This design minimises friction losses and allows the bearing to be connected directly to a central oil lubrication system or external grease chambers. The lubricant reaches the balls unimpeded; however, this in turn requires an effective housing seal to prevent contamination.
The inner ring, outer ring and rolling elements are made from standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6. This material is characterised by high dimensional stability and fatigue strength. The balls are guided by a sheet steel cage, which is designed for the specified operating range of –20 to +150 degrees and generates low inertial forces.
Manufacturing is carried out in accordance with the standard tolerance class P0 (corresponding to PN or ABEC 1). This tolerance class fully meets the standard requirements of mechanical engineering in terms of dimensional, geometric and running accuracy, and is compatible with standard shaft and housing seats used in industrial applications.
The open deep-groove ball bearing is designed for an operating temperature range of between -20 and +150 degrees. As no heat-sensitive contact seals are fitted, the thermal load capacity during operation is limited by the material properties of the steel and the cage, as well as by the lubricant used.
