The FAG single-row deep-groove ball bearing 6216 -C3, measuring 80x140x26 mm, offers increased bearing clearance for industrial applications subject to thermal stress.
With the 6216-C3 deep groove ball bearing, you get a FAG rolling bearing suitable for a wide range of industrial applications. The single-row bearing has a bore of 80 mm, an outer diameter of 140 mm and a width of 26 mm. As an open radial ball bearing without integrated sealing rings, it is suitable for designs where the lubricant is supplied from the outside. Manufactured from standard rolling-element bearing steel 100Cr6, the rings and rolling elements offer high dimensional stability during continuous daily use.
This bearing primarily absorbs radial forces, but also reliably supports shafts under axial loads in both directions. Typical applications include general mechanical engineering, as well as gearboxes and rotating drive units. Thanks to its open design, the bearing can be integrated directly into enclosed housings with oil or grease lubrication. The design complies with the standard tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1, allowing you to mount the component precisely on cylindrical shaft seats.
The C3 designation indicates a slightly increased radial clearance compared with the standard version. This additional radial clearance compensates for thermal expansion when a temperature gradient develops between the inner and outer rings. Tight fits on the shaft or housing also reduce the bearing clearance during press-fitting, meaning that the C3 version helps to prevent the rolling elements from jamming. A sturdy sheet-steel cage guides the balls evenly within a temperature range of -20 to +150 degrees and ensures low-vibration operation.
The bearing has an inside diameter of 80 mm, an outside diameter of 140 mm and a width of 26 mm. The outer ring is cylindrical, with no flange or groove. These standardised key dimensions enable a precise fit in housing bores in accordance with standard industrial tolerances.
The suffix C3 indicates an increased radial bearing clearance compared with the standard clearance. It allows the rolling elements more room between the raceways. This is advantageous when tight fits cause the inner ring to expand or when temperature differences occur between the shaft and the housing during operation.
As this model has no integrated seals or cover plates, it is not filled with grease at the factory. You should lubricate the bearing externally via the housing circuit with oil whilst it is fitted, or fill it with a suitable grease before commissioning. An external sealing system protects against the ingress of dirt.
The permissible operating range extends from -20 to +150 degrees Celsius. The bearing rings, the balls and the integrated sheet steel cage all retain their dimensional stability within this temperature range. Ensure you select a lubricant that also reliably covers this temperature range.
The inner ring, outer ring and rolling elements are made of through-hardened standard roller bearing steel (100Cr6), which ensures high load-carrying capacity and wear resistance. A robust sheet steel cage is used to guide and space the ball rows. The bearing does not have an electrically insulating coating.
The roller bearing complies with the standard tolerance class P0 or PN, which corresponds to the ABEC 1 classification in international terms. This precision class fully meets the requirements of most industrial machines and drives with cylindrical bearing seats.
