The FAG 6015 -2Z-C3 deep-groove ball bearing, with dimensions of 75 × 115 × 20 mm, end shields on both sides and a C3 clearance, is designed to support rotating shafts.
The single-row deep groove ball bearing 6015 -2Z-C3 from FAG Rolling Bearings is designed primarily to accommodate radial loads as well as moderate axial forces in both directions. Manufactured from standard rolling-bearing steel 100Cr6, this rolling bearing has a bore of 75 mm, an outside diameter of 115 mm and a width of 20 mm. The integrated sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements evenly through the raceways. Thanks to the factory-fitted lip seals, the lubricant remains inside the bearing whilst coarse dirt particles are kept out.
Rotating shaft assemblies with a diameter of 75 mm utilise the 6015 -2Z-C3 deep groove ball bearing to support radial loads. This design is particularly suitable for bearing arrangements involving uniform rotational movement where compact radial dimensions are required. Thanks to the non-contact gap seals, the bearing operates with low friction and is suitable for medium to high speeds. Use is recommended in enclosed housings, which provide additional protection for the bearing against heavy environmental contamination.
The suffix 2Z denotes cover plates on both sides made of sheet steel, which act as non-contact seals. These plates do not generate any additional frictional torque, but do protect against solid foreign particles. The designation C3 indicates a slightly increased radial bearing clearance. This increased clearance between the balls and raceways compensates for thermal expansion at operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +120 degrees. Furthermore, the C3 bearing clearance helps to prevent the bearing from seizing in the case of tight press fits.
With an internal diameter of 75 mm, an external diameter of 115 mm and a width of 20 mm, the bearing fits onto suitable shafts. The outer ring has neither a groove nor a flange, which means the roller bearing can be fitted flush into straight housing bores.
The cover plates on both sides, made of profiled sheet steel, form a gap seal with the inner ring. They do not come into contact with the rotating parts, which means that no additional heat is generated due to friction. This design protects the lubricant inside from leaking out and keeps out larger particles.
The designation C3 indicates a radial bearing clearance that is slightly greater than that of standard bearings. This clearance is useful when temperature differences occur between the shaft and the housing during operation. The C3 bearing clearance also compensates for the radial expansion of the inner ring in the case of tight fits.
The permissible temperature range is between -30 and +120 degrees Celsius. The 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel, the sheet steel cage and the fitted end plates are designed to withstand these thermal conditions. Within this range, the metallic components retain their dimensional stability and mechanical load-bearing capacity.
The roller bearing complies with standard tolerance class P0, also known as standard tolerance PN or ABEC 1. This class defines the permissible dimensional, geometric and running accuracies for the bore, the outer diameter and the concentricity, which enables installation in common standard fit seats.
The inner ring, outer ring and rolling elements are made from standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6. This material offers high wear resistance and dimensional stability under cyclic loading. The cage is additionally made of sheet steel, which helps to ensure that the balls are guided evenly along the raceways.
