The SKF 6212-2RS1 deep groove ball bearing, measuring 60x110x22 mm and featuring a ground seal on both sides, offers protection against contaminants and moisture.
This single-row deep groove ball bearing 6212-2RS1 primarily withstands radial forces and also supports axial loads in both directions. The SKF design is made from standard 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel for the inner ring, outer ring and rolling elements. The sealing discs fitted on both sides ensure that the lubricant remains inside the bearing, whilst keeping dirt particles and splash water away from the raceways. The cylindrical outer ring has no flange or groove, allowing the component to be fitted flush into suitable housing bores.
The design is suitable for rotating shaft bearings in general mechanical engineering and fixture construction subject to combined loads. In environments with dust or splash water, the sealed design proves its worth during operation. The integrated sheet steel cage reliably maintains the correct spacing between the rolling elements, whilst the design is rated for a temperature range of -20 to +120 degrees. The standard radial bearing clearance ensures proven clearance characteristics for standard fits.
The suffix 2RS1 denotes two seals that seal on both sides, with their sealing lips resting against the contact surfaces of the inner ring. This design protects the deep-groove ball bearing against lubricant loss and the ingress of foreign particles and moisture. Designs featuring this seal type are primarily intended for installation locations where no additional external housing seal is present and where low maintenance requirements are a priority.
This version has a bore of 60 mm, an outside diameter of 110 mm and a width of 22 mm. The outer ring is cylindrical, with no flange or ring groove.
The designation 2RS1 refers to a double-sided seal. The sealing lips make contact with the inner ring and keep dirt particles and moisture out of the bearing.
The ball bearing is manufactured with standard radial clearance. This radial clearance is suitable for typical fit conditions on the shaft and housing at balanced operating temperatures.
The permissible temperature range is between -20 and +120 degrees. This range is limited by the seal material and the grease applied at the factory.
The component is manufactured to tolerance class P0 (also classified as PN or ABEC 1). This classification meets the requirements for dimensional and concentricity accuracy in mechanical engineering.
A sheet steel cage is fitted. It guides the rolling elements evenly along the raceway and takes up very little space during operation.
