The SKF 63002 -2RS1 deep groove ball bearing features ground seals on both sides to protect against contamination, whilst maintaining compact dimensions of 15 x 32 x 13 mm.
The 63002 -2RS1 deep groove ball bearing is a single-row radial ball bearing made from standard 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel, with a 15 mm bore, 32 mm outer diameter and 13 mm width. Fitted with contact seals on both sides, this model is suitable for rotating shafts where dirt or splash water needs to be kept out. The integrated sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements evenly within the raceway. For rotating assemblies in mechanical engineering and fixture construction, this design offers a practical bearing solution with normal radial clearance.
The 63002 -2RS1 deep groove ball bearing is primarily designed to accommodate radial forces and light axial forces in dusty or damp environments. The 2RS1 sealing lips on both sides help to prevent contaminants from entering the bearing interior. Designs in general mechanical engineering involving rotating shafts benefit from this sealed construction. As the outer ring has no flange or groove, the component can be fitted directly into cylindrical housing bores. The permissible temperature range is from –20 to +120 degrees Celsius.
The 2RS1 design refers to seals that abut on both sides, preventing the escape of grease and shielding the interior of the bearing. In combination with the standard radial bearing clearance CN, the design is suitable for normal operating temperatures without extreme thermal expansion. With tolerance class P0 (ABEC 1), the roller bearing meets standardised industrial requirements for dimensional and concentricity accuracy. Before assembly, the bearing seats for the 15 mm shaft and the 32 mm housing bore should be checked for dimensional accuracy.
This bearing has a bore of 15 mm, an outside diameter of 32 mm and a width of 13 mm. It is a single-row radial ball bearing without a flange or ring groove on the outer ring. Thanks to these standardised dimensions, the rolling bearing fits into standardised housing seats and onto corresponding shaft diameters in mechanical engineering.
The designation 2RS1 indicates abiding contact seals fitted on both sides. The sealing lips make contact with the bearing rings and help to keep dirt particles and moisture out of the raceway system. At the same time, the lubricant remains inside the bearing, which reduces the need for relubrication during operation.
This model features the standard radial bearing clearance (Class CN), which is not specified separately in the abbreviation. This design is intended for standard applications with typical shaft and housing fits, where there are no extreme temperature differences between the inner and outer rings. It ensures smooth running and even load distribution across the balls.
The permissible temperature range for this bearing design is between –20 and +120 degrees Celsius. This range is largely determined by the material of the sliding seals and the lubricant. For applications within these thermal limits, the elasticity of the sealing lips – and thus the sealing performance – is maintained.
The bearing rings and rolling elements are made from standard rolling-bearing steel (100Cr6), which offers high strength and dimensional stability. A robust sheet steel cage is used to guide the rolling elements. This keeps the balls at a uniform distance from one another, which promotes low-vibration operation and smooth load transfer.
The bearing is manufactured to the standard tolerance class P0 (corresponding to PN per ISO or ABEC 1). This class meets the standard requirements of general mechanical engineering and equipment manufacturing with regard to dimensional, geometric and running accuracy. Standard industry machining tolerances are sufficient for the bearing seats on the shaft and in the housing.
