The SKF 4212 ATN9 deep-groove ball bearing is a double-row rolling bearing measuring 60x110x28 mm, offering high radial load-carrying capacity in a compact design.
The 4212 ATN9 deep groove ball bearing is an open, double-row radial ball bearing made from conventional standard rolling bearing steel (100Cr6). Compared with single-row versions, this double-row design can withstand greater radial forces whilst maintaining the same bore diameter of 60 mm and outer diameter of 110 mm. As it does not feature integrated seals, the bearing is suitable for designs in which lubricants can circulate freely and external housing seals prevent the ingress of dirt particles.
This double-row design is primarily used where the installation space is limited to a width of 28 mm and single-row deep groove ball bearings reach their limits. In addition to predominant radial forces, the geometry of the raceways also accommodates axial forces in both directions. Suitable applications include compact shaft mountings subject to combined loads, where uniform force transmission and a clean lubricant circulation are required.
The suffix ATN9 denotes a polyamide cage for guiding the rolling elements. This plastic cage reduces the component weight and the moment of inertia of the rotating balls, which contributes to smooth running and reduced friction. During operation, the bearing operates within a temperature range of -20 to +120 degrees. As the bearing is of an open design, a clean installation environment and a reliable external lubricant supply via the housing must be provided for.
Two rows of balls in deep raceways enable the bearing to accommodate higher radial loads compared with single-row bearings of the same dimensions. With a bore of 60 mm, an outer diameter of 110 mm and a width of 28 mm, the component combines load-carrying capacity with a compact design, whilst the polyamide cage reduces the weight.
The bearing has an inner diameter of 60 mm, an outer diameter of 110 mm and a width of 28 mm. The outer ring has no flange or groove.
The suffix ATN9 denotes a polyamide cage that guides the rolling elements. The material reduces the moment of inertia and is designed for operating temperatures ranging from -20 to +120 degrees.
Without factory-fitted sealing or cover washers, external lubricants such as oil or grease can reach the rolling elements and raceways unhindered. Protection against contaminants and moisture is provided by the design of the surrounding housing.
The component is manufactured with standard radial bearing clearance for standard fits and operating conditions. It is manufactured to tolerance classes P0 or PN and ABEC 1 for standard precision requirements.
