The SKF 6414 single-row deep-groove ball bearing measures 70x180x42 mm and, as an open rolling bearing, offers high radial load-carrying capacity for industrial shaft supports.
The 6414 deep groove ball bearing primarily accommodates radial forces as well as moderate axial forces on both sides. With an inside diameter of 70 mm, an outside diameter of 180 mm and a width of 42 mm, this SKF roller bearing design can withstand demanding mechanical loads. Manufactured from standard 100Cr6 bearing steel, this single-row bearing is characterised by dimensional stability and smooth running. In accordance with tolerance class P0/PN (ABEC 1), the component fits into standardised machine designs.
The 6414 deep-groove ball bearing is designed for bearing arrangements where high radial forces act on 70 mm shafts. Thanks to its design with deep raceways, the bearing supports rotating shafts stably under combined loads. The open design is particularly suitable for installation spaces with a central lubrication supply. Thanks to its standardised mounting dimensions, the component can be fitted directly during maintenance and repair work.
In the open version, the rolling bearing has no integrated sealing washers, allowing lubricants to reach the raceways unhindered. Protection against particles and moisture is provided by the surrounding housing structure. The standard radial clearance (CN) is designed for standard fits and operating temperatures between –20 and +120 degrees. A robust sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements at a uniform spacing. The cylindrical outer ring is designed without a groove or flange and is guided directly in the housing seat.
With a bore of 70 mm, an external diameter of 180 mm and a width of 42 mm, this model offers a robust cross-section. These dimensions enable it to withstand high radial forces whilst maintaining a compact axial length on suitable shafts.
The permissible operating range extends from -20 to +120 degrees Celsius. Both the rings and rolling elements made of 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel and the sheet steel cage retain their dimensional stability within this temperature range. Lubricants should be selected to suit the respective operating temperature.
Standard radial bearing clearance refers to the standard clearance between the inner ring, outer ring and rolling elements prior to installation. This clearance is intended for typical shaft and housing fits under conditions of balanced operating temperature. In the event of significant thermal variations within the system, a detailed design review is recommended.
The open design, which does not feature any sliding seals, allows for direct flushing with gearbox oil or housing grease and minimises friction losses. This promotes smooth running at higher speeds. Protection against contamination and moisture is provided by the housing design.
A sheet steel cage keeps the balls spaced apart and prevents direct contact between the rolling elements. This type of cage offers practical mechanical strength and is compatible with standard lubricants used in industrial applications.
Manufacturing is carried out in accordance with the standard tolerance class P0/PN, which corresponds to the ABEC 1 standard. This class defines the dimensional and geometric accuracy required for general mechanical engineering and facilitates the replacement of parts with an exact fit in the event of repairs.
