The SKF 16007 single-row deep-groove ball bearing, measuring 35 × 62 × 9 mm, offers a compact design and enhanced running accuracy to tolerance class P6.
The 16007 deep groove ball bearing is an open rolling bearing with particularly narrow dimensions. With an inside diameter of 35 mm, an outside diameter of 62 mm and a width of 9 mm, this design is suitable for space-saving applications. SKF manufactures this model in the Explorer performance class from standard rolling-element bearing steel (100Cr6) with a sheet steel cage. The radial bearing accommodates radial forces as well as moderate axial loads in both directions.
The rolling bearing offers a solution for installation situations where sufficient radial installation space is available but axial width is limited. Thanks to its open design without abiding sealing elements, the bearing is characterised by low friction torque. It is primarily used in designs with an external lubrication supply via oil or grease, which are also encapsulated to protect against external contamination. The permissible temperature range is from –20 to +120 degrees Celsius.
This model has tolerance class P6 or ABEC 3 and features tighter dimensional and running tolerances than bearings with standard tolerances. The manufacturing precision ensures precise shaft guidance and promotes smooth running of the bearing assembly. Due to the standard radial clearance, the bearing is designed for standard fit conditions. The open design requires clean installation conditions and effective external sealing of the housing.
With a bore of 35 mm, an outside diameter of 62 mm and a width of 9 mm, this model is characterised by its narrow design. Given a specific outside diameter, it requires little axial installation width and is suitable for compact shaft bearings.
Tolerance class P6, also known as ABEC 3, defines tighter tolerances for dimensional accuracy and concentricity than the standard tolerance. The bearing therefore ensures precise shaft guidance and reduces vibrations at constant speeds.
Without integrated seals or cover plates, the open design minimises frictional resistance during operation. This requires a clean installation environment and a lubricant supply via the housing, which must be protected from particles and moisture by external seals.
The bearing is designed with a standard radial clearance. This design is suitable for standard press fits on the shaft and in the housing, and prevents excessive stress at normal operating temperatures.
The permissible operating temperature range is between -20 and +120 degrees Celsius. The materials, comprising fully hardened 100Cr6 roller bearing steel and the sheet steel cage, are designed for this temperature range. In practical use, the selected external lubricant also helps to determine the thermal operating limit.
The rings and rolling elements are made from conventional standard 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel. The balls are guided within a sheet steel cage. The bearing has no electrical insulation and no flange on the outer ring.
