The 6213-Z deep-groove ball bearing from FAG Wälzlager, measuring 65x120x23 mm, offers radial load-carrying capacity and protection against dirt thanks to a single-sided sheet metal cover.
The 6213-Z deep groove ball bearing from FAG Wälzlager is a single-row radial ball bearing designed for demanding industrial applications. With a bore of 65 mm, an outside diameter of 120 mm and a width of 23 mm, this rolling bearing primarily accommodates radial loads as well as moderate axial loads. Manufactured from standard 100Cr6 bearing steel, this design features a robust sheet steel cage. If you are looking to purchase a precisely fitting bearing, this design meets a wide range of requirements in mechanical engineering.
Design engineers and maintenance technicians use the 6213-Z deep groove ball bearing primarily in gearboxes, electric drives and rotating assemblies. As this rolling bearing combines radial loads with axial forces acting in both directions, it is frequently used as a fixed or floating bearing on shafts with a diameter of 65 mm. The wide operating temperature range of –30 to +150 degrees allows operation under demanding thermal environmental conditions. The cylindrical outer ring without a groove ensures a uniform fit in housing bores.
The variant with the suffix ‘-Z’ features a non-contacting cover plate made of sheet steel on one side. This gap seal shields the rolling elements from coarse dirt particles without causing additional friction or heat generation. The opposite open side allows for lubrication via the interior of the housing or an oil bath, if required. The design must also take into account the standard radial bearing clearance and the tolerance class P0/PN (ABEC 1) for standardised fits.
This roller bearing has an inside diameter of 65 mm, an outside diameter of 120 mm and a width of 23 mm. These dimensions determine the required fit on the shaft and in the housing, and allow standardised components of the same size to be interchanged.
The suffix -Z denotes a cover disc made of profiled sheet steel, fitted on one side. It acts as a non-contact gap seal to prevent the ingress of solid foreign particles. As the sealing disc does not rub against the inner ring, torque transmission remains low-friction, whilst the rear side remains accessible for lubricants.
The permissible operating range is from -30 to +150 degrees Celsius. Both the bearing rings and rolling elements made of roller bearing steel, as well as the integrated sheet steel cage and the metallic lip seal, are designed for this temperature range, provided that a suitable lubricant is used.
This design features standard radial bearing clearance. This defines the radial clearance of the rolling elements between the inner and outer rings when the bearing is not installed, and is tailored to conventional shaft and housing fits at standard operating temperatures.
The inner ring, outer ring and rolling elements are made of standard roller bearing steel (100Cr6), which offers dimensional stability and load-carrying capacity. The balls are guided by a sheet steel cage, and the single-sided cover plate is also made of sheet steel.
As a radial ball bearing, the 6213 type primarily absorbs forces perpendicular to the shaft. Thanks to the deep raceways in the inner and outer rings, the bearing can also transmit axial forces in both directions, making it suitable for combined loads in mechanical engineering.
