The FAG 6015-Z single-row deep-groove ball bearing, with a 75 mm bore and a cover plate on one side, offers reliable protection against dirt particles.
The 6015-Z deep-groove ball bearing provides designers and maintenance engineers with a versatile rolling bearing for combined loads. This FAG component primarily absorbs radial forces, but also supports axial forces in both directions thanks to the raceway geometry. Manufactured from standard rolling-bearing steel 100Cr6, the rolling elements and rings offer high strength. With dimensions of 75 mm inner diameter, 115 mm outer diameter and 20 mm width, the bearing complies with standard ISO specifications for tolerance class P0.
The bearing is primarily used in rotating shaft assemblies where one side of the housing is open, whilst the other side needs to be protected. Typical applications include rotating shafts and mechanical drive units subjected to combined loads. Thanks to its robust sheet steel cage, the roller bearing guides the balls with low vibration even at varying speeds. Furthermore, the bearing is designed for operating temperatures ranging from –30 to +150 degrees.
The suffix ‘Z’ denotes a non-contacting sheet metal cover on one side of the bearing. This cover keeps coarse dirt and falling particles out of the bearing interior, but does not cause any additional friction compared with sliding seals. The open side on the opposite side also allows for targeted relubrication via the machine housing or an oil circuit. As there is normal radial bearing clearance, this design is suitable for standard fit conditions without extreme thermal expansion of the shaft or housing.
The bearing has an inside diameter of 75 mm, an outside diameter of 115 mm and a width of 20 mm. The cylindrical outer ring has no flange or ring groove, which means the bearing can be fitted flush into standard bores with standard tolerances.
The ‘Z’ stands for a cover plate made of profiled sheet steel, fitted on one side. It acts as a non-contact gap seal and protects the interior from coarse contaminants. As the sealing lip does not rub against the inner ring, the speed characteristics remain virtually unchanged compared with fully open bearings.
The component is designed for an operating temperature range of -30 to +150 degrees. Both the rolling elements and the rings, made from 100Cr6 rolling-bearing steel, and the temperature-stable sheet steel cage retain their dimensional stability and functionality within this temperature range.
This bearing is manufactured with standard radial bearing clearance (CN). The internal clearance between the balls and raceways is designed for standard fits on solid shafts and in housings where there are no extreme temperature differences between the inner and outer rings.
P0, or ABEC 1, defines the standard tolerance for dimensional, geometric and running accuracy of rolling bearings. It reflects the industry standard in general mechanical engineering and enables precise fitting onto standard shafts with standard basic tolerance grades, without the need for special requirements.
Thanks to its single-sided open design, the bearing can be integrated into the machine’s lubrication system via the open side. This allows grease or lubricating oil to be fed directly to the raceways and the sheet steel cage during maintenance intervals.
