The SKF 16015 deep-groove ball bearing, with dimensions of 75x115x13 mm, offers a compact solution for predominantly radial loads in protected mounting spaces.
The 16015 deep groove ball bearing is a single-row rolling bearing made from 100Cr6 bearing steel in the SKF Explorer design. With a narrow width of just 13 mm, a 75 mm bore and an 115 mm outer diameter, this component requires little axial space. It guides the shaft precisely and, in addition to radial forces, also accommodates axial loads in both directions. A sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements along the hardened raceways.
This design is particularly recommended when axial installation space is limited, but a shaft diameter capable of withstanding the load still needs to be accommodated. Typical applications include compact bearing arrangements with a circulating supply of lubricating oil or grease. As the outer ring has no flange or groove, the bearing can be slid directly into cylindrical housing bores.
As an open rolling bearing, the 16015 design has no integrated seals or cover plates. The lubricant can be freely selected to suit the respective operating conditions, whilst external housing seals prevent the ingress of dirt and moisture. The permissible temperature range is from –20 to +120 degrees Celsius. Dimensional accuracy to tolerance class P6 with standard running accuracy PN enables a precise fit to be selected for the shaft and housing.
This roller bearing has an inside diameter of 75 mm, an outside diameter of 115 mm and a width of 13 mm. Owing to the ratio of its inside diameter to its width, the bearing is particularly suitable for designs with a slender axial profile.
The open design, which does not feature any abiding sealing lips, reduces frictional resistance at the bearing point. It also allows for direct lubrication via a central lubrication system or a closed oil bath. Careful sealing of the surrounding housing structure protects the internal components from foreign particles.
The P6 grade indicates tighter manufacturing tolerances for the main dimensions compared with the standard PN tolerance. This allows for tighter fit tolerances on the shaft and in the housing, which contributes to smooth running and precise positioning during operation.
Normal bearing clearance, also known as standard radial clearance (CN), describes the theoretical radial movement of the balls between the inner and outer rings when the bearing is not installed. Once the bearing has been correctly pressed onto the shaft and into the housing, the operating clearance required for operation remains.
The 16015 deep-groove ball bearing, with a sheet steel cage and rings made from 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel, is designed for continuous operation between -20 and +120 degrees Celsius. Within these temperature limits, the microstructural stability of the material and the rolling element cage is maintained.
