The FAG 6315-Z deep-groove ball bearing (75x160x37 mm) features a single-sided sheet metal cover plate, providing protection against dirt particles whilst ensuring low friction.
The 6315-Z deep groove ball bearing is a single-row radial ball bearing, manufactured from standard rolling-element bearing steel (100Cr6). As a versatile machine component, this rolling bearing primarily absorbs radial forces, but also guides shafts precisely when subjected to axial forces acting from both sides. With a bore of 75 mm, an outer diameter of 160 mm and a width of 37 mm, this component is suitable for designs with high demands on smooth running and load-carrying capacity. The symmetrically designed raceways ensure an even distribution of forces across the rolling elements.
This radial deep-groove ball bearing is used in rotating bearing arrangements where combined radial and axial loads occur. Thanks to its robust sheet steel cage, the bearing guides the rolling elements with low vibration and low noise at both constant and varying speeds. The single-row bearing covers a wide operating temperature range from –30 to +150 degrees Celsius and retains its dimensional stability even under thermal stress. This makes the design suitable for applications where fluctuating operating temperatures and continuous rotational movement prevail.
The suffix ‘Z’ denotes a non-contact gap seal made from profiled sheet metal on one side of the bearing. This cover keeps coarse contaminants and foreign particles away from the raceway system without generating any additional frictional torque. The open side on the opposite side allows for targeted relubrication or installation in enclosed housings with an existing oil bath. The standard radial bearing clearance ensures smooth running during operation with standard mounting fits and compensates for minor heat-induced expansion of the components.
This roller bearing has an inside diameter of 75 mm, an outside diameter of 160 mm and a total width of 37 mm. The outer ring is cylindrical and has neither a flange nor a retaining ring groove. Before fitting, you should check the dimensions of the shaft and the housing seat to ensure a precise fit.
The designation ‘Z’ refers to a single-sided cover plate made of sheet steel. This gap seal protects the interior of the bearing from the ingress of particles without coming into contact with it, thereby preventing any additional frictional torque. The open side allows lubricant to be supplied via an internal housing system, for example in the case of oil bath lubrication.
The component is designed with standard radial bearing clearance (class CN or P0/PN). This standard factory-set clearance is suitable for common fit combinations and normal operating temperatures. It helps to ensure that, after being pressed onto the shaft, the bearing retains sufficient radial clearance for smooth, low-wear operation.
The inner and outer rings, as well as the rolling elements, are made of standard roller bearing steel (100Cr6), which ensures fatigue strength. A dimensionally stable sheet steel cage guides the ball row. This combination of materials allows the bearing to be used within a temperature range of -30 to +150 degrees Celsius.
This deep-groove ball bearing is manufactured to tolerance class P0 (standard tolerance or ABEC 1). This manufacturing precision meets standardised requirements for concentricity and dimensional accuracy in industrial applications. Special fits or excessive preparatory work on the bearing seat are not usually required for this tolerance class.
