The FAG 6207-2RSR deep groove ball bearing, with dimensions of 35 × 72 × 17 mm and ground seals on both sides, offers reliable protection against contamination under radial loads.
The 6207 -2RSR deep groove ball bearing is a single-row rolling bearing to standard tolerance class P0/PN, manufactured from standard rolling bearing steel 100Cr6. This FAG design features a sturdy sheet steel cage and standard radial clearance. Thanks to its compact dimensions – an inner diameter of 35 mm, an outer diameter of 72 mm and a width of 17 mm – the component is equally suitable for predictable series production requirements in industrial procurement and for repairs in the workshop.
The 6207 -2RSR deep groove ball bearing primarily absorbs radial loads whilst also supporting axial forces in both directions. With a temperature range of –20 to +100 degrees, the bearing covers typical operating environments in mechanical engineering where rotating components must be reliably supported.
The single-row design ensures smooth running characteristics during operation. As the outer ring has no groove or flange, the rolling bearing fits positively into cylindrical housing bores.
The 2RSR design features sealing lips on both sides that maintain contact, which retain the lubricant inside the bearing and make it difficult for dust, moisture or fine foreign particles to penetrate. Compared with open bearings, this contact reduces maintenance requirements during operation.
The ambient conditions must be taken into account prior to installation: due to its design, the abating seal generates friction but, in return, offers protection against external contamination. Together with the standard bearing clearance, this design is suitable for applications where no above-average thermal expansion of the shaft is expected.
With an internal bore of 35 mm, an external diameter of 72 mm and a width of 17 mm, the component complies with standardised dimensions. These precisely defined dimensions facilitate direct replacement in existing assemblies. Before fitting, it is advisable to check the dimensions of the shaft seat and the housing bore.
Sealing lips fitted on both sides make direct contact with the inner ring and seal the rolling element chamber against dirt particles and splash water. At the same time, lubricating grease does not leak out uncontrollably, making the roller bearing ideal for low-maintenance designs.
‘Standard bearing clearance’ refers to the radial clearance between the rolling elements and raceways specified by the manufacturer, without a specific C-classification. It ensures smooth running at normal operating temperatures, provided there are no significant temperature differences between the shaft and the housing.
Standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6 is used for the rings and balls. This material is characterised by its dimensional stability and strength under radial loading. The integrated cage is made of stamped sheet steel and maintains a uniform spacing between the rolling elements.
The roller bearing is designed for operating temperatures ranging from -20 to +100 degrees Celsius. These limits are primarily determined by the material of the sealing lips and the lubricant contained within. Within this temperature range, the bearing operates without the need for any additional equipment.
The bearing is manufactured to tolerance class P0 (also known as standard tolerance PN or ABEC 1). This standardised accuracy meets the requirements of common mechanical engineering applications. It allows the bearing to be fitted onto precisely machined shafts and into standard bearing housings without the need for special fits.
