The SKF NJ307 ECJ single-row cylindrical roller bearing accommodates high radial forces and unilateral axial loads whilst maintaining compact dimensions of 35 × 80 × 21 mm.
The NJ307 ECJ cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row radial roller bearing with key dimensions of a 35 mm bore, an 80 mm outside diameter and a 21 mm width. Thanks to its optimised internal design and the line contact of the cylindrical rollers, this design can handle heavy radial loads. The bearing is manufactured by SKF and features a sheet steel cage that guides the rollers. As an open component without an integrated seal, it is designed for oil- or grease-lubricated systems.
This roller bearing is used in designs where high radial loads occur and shafts need to be guided in an axial direction. The component is suitable for a temperature range of -30 to +150 degrees. Thanks to the single-sided flange arrangement on the inner ring, the bearing absorbs axial forces in one direction and, in the opposite direction, allows for the compensation of operational length changes.
The NJ design functions as a support bearing. The outer ring has two fixed flanges, whilst the inner ring has one fixed flange and is removable from one side. This design facilitates the assembly of separate bearing rings. When selecting the bearing, take into account the standard radial clearance and the tolerance class: Dimensional accuracy corresponds to P0/PN or ABEC 1, whilst running accuracy is defined as P6 or ABEC 3. As the outer ring has neither a groove nor a lubrication bore, the lubricant is supplied via the housing design.
With an internal diameter of 35 mm, an external diameter of 80 mm and a width of 21 mm, this component fits into standardised housing bores and onto corresponding bearing seats. The cylindrical bore allows for direct mounting on a cylindrical shaft.
In the NJ version, the bearing has two fixed flanges on the outer ring and one fixed flange on the inner ring. This enables it to fully absorb radial forces and also guide the shaft in an axial direction. In the opposite direction, the bearing allows for axial displacement to compensate for thermal expansion.
As this design does not feature integrated mechanical seals or cover plates, the entire system requires external sealing of the housing. Lubrication can be carried out using either grease or oil. As the outer ring has no lubrication groove, the lubricant is fed laterally to the rollers and the sheet steel cage via the installation space.
The permissible temperature range is from -30 to +150 degrees. The integrated sheet steel cage and the dimensional stability of the rings enable operation within this range. When selecting a lubricant, you should ensure that its thermal resistance corresponds to the required operating range for the specific application.
Dimensional accuracy complies with the standard tolerance P0 or ABEC 1, whilst the tighter tolerance class P6 or ABEC 3 applies to running accuracy. This graded specification ensures smooth concentricity of rotating shafts with standardised mounting dimensions.
The inner ring, which can be removed from one side, allows the inner and outer rings to be fitted separately. You can slide the inner ring onto the shaft separately and fit the outer ring, together with the roller set, into the housing. This simplifies installation in confined spaces and makes subsequent maintenance work easier.
