The FAG NU2314 -E-XL-TVP2 cylindrical roller bearing (70x150x51 mm) is a single-row non-locating bearing that withstands high radial loads and allows for axial length compensation.
The NU2314 -E-XL-TVP2 cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row radial roller bearing from FAG designed for demanding industrial applications. With a bore of 70 mm, an outside diameter of 150 mm and a width of 51 mm, this design can withstand considerable radial loads. The open bearing design allows for flexible integration into existing oil or grease lubrication systems. For designers and maintenance engineers, the standardised tolerance class P0/PN (ABEC 1) ensures reliable interchangeability in machine components.
Industrial drives and gearboxes primarily use this design for high radial loads where the shaft must be able to move axially. The NU design functions as a non-locating bearing: The inner ring has no flanges and can be removed from either side, allowing thermal length changes to occur stress-free within the bearing. Typical applications are found in general mechanical engineering or in electric motors. Seals fitted to the machine housing protect the open bearing from dirt particles and moisture.
The integrated polyamide cage guides the cylindrical rollers with low friction and reduces the component weight compared to solid metal cages. The component is designed for a temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees. The version with standard radial bearing clearance is suitable for standard fit conditions and moderate operating temperatures. As the outer ring is manufactured without a groove or lubrication bore, the lubricant is supplied directly via the lateral clearance at the installation point.
The NU design has two fixed flanges on the outer ring, whilst the inner ring is flangeless and can be removed from either side. As a result, the unit functions purely as a non-locating bearing. It accommodates radial loads only and compensates for thermally induced linear changes in the shaft’s length directly between the rollers and the inner ring raceway without generating additional stresses.
The bearing has an internal diameter of 70 mm, an external diameter of 150 mm and a width of 51 mm. It is a single-row cylindrical roller bearing with a tolerance class of P0/PN or ABEC 1. These dimensions are defined in accordance with current standards and ensure a precise fit when replacing the bearing.
The permissible temperature range is from -30 to +120 degrees. This range is limited, amongst other things, by the polyamide cage fitted. Within these limits, the cage material retains its mechanical properties, provided that the lubricant used is also approved for these operating temperatures.
An open bearing has no integrated sealing washers. This design allows for free flushing with lubricating oil or the targeted application of grease via the surrounding housing structure. A prerequisite for low-wear operation is external sealing of the bearing housing against dust, abrasion and moisture.
Standard radial bearing clearance refers to the factory-set radial clearance when the bearing is unmounted. It is designed for standard shaft and housing fits, where the inner ring does not expand excessively. For applications involving extreme temperature differences between the shaft and the housing, it is advisable to check in advance whether a higher bearing clearance class is required.
The polyamide cage is characterised by its low weight and good damping properties. It guides the rolling elements between the raceways with minimal vibration. The material operates at temperatures up to +120 degrees and helps to ensure an even distribution of lubricant within the bearing.
