The SKF NU2213 ECP cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row non-locating bearing with a 65 mm bore, designed to accommodate high radial loads.
The NU2213 ECP cylindrical roller bearing is an open roller bearing with a 65 mm bore, an outer diameter of 120 mm and a width of 31 mm. Thanks to the optimised internal design of the Explorer series and the line contact between the rollers and raceways, this model can accommodate high radial loads. The inner ring, which can be removed from both ends, facilitates the assembly of the shaft and housing. With standard radial clearance, the bearing is suitable for industrial applications where axial length changes need to be accommodated without restriction.
The NU design is primarily used as a pure idler bearing in industrial bearing arrangements. As the inner ring has no flanges, the shaft slides with minimal friction within the bearing housing during temperature-induced longitudinal expansion. The single-row roller arrangement accommodates radial loads only, meaning that axial forces must be supported separately. Due to the open design without sealing washers, lubrication is supplied externally via the housing or a circulating lubrication system.
The designation ECP stands for a polyamide cage combined with an optimised internal design. The cage guides the cylindrical rollers evenly and limits the weight of the rotating components. The bearing covers an operating temperature range from –30 to +120 degrees Celsius. Whilst the dimensional accuracy corresponds to class P0 or ABEC 1, the Explorer version offers increased running accuracy in accordance with tolerance class P6. When selecting a lubricant, care must be taken to ensure compatibility with the polyamide material.
With a bore diameter of 65 mm, an outside diameter of 120 mm and a width of 31 mm, the bearing complies with the metric standard series. The single-row component has neither a ring groove nor lubrication holes in the outer ring and is designed as an open bearing.
In the NU design, the outer ring has two fixed flanges, whilst the inner ring is flangeless. This allows the inner ring to be removed from both sides, enabling the shaft and housing to be fitted separately. The bearing acts purely as a non-locating bearing and compensates for axial changes in the length of the shaft during operation without restriction.
The bearing is designed for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +120 degrees Celsius. This temperature range is determined by the material properties of the polyamide cage and the dimensional stability of the rings. To ensure reliable operation, a lubricant must be selected that remains stable within these limits.
Designed with standard radial bearing clearance, the bearing is suitable for conventional mounting conditions with standard fit selections and uniform operating temperatures. The clearance ensures that the rolling elements can move freely under normal operating conditions without excessive radial preload.
The dimensional accuracy of the bearing complies with tolerance class P0 or ABEC 1. In terms of running accuracy, the bearing meets the tighter tolerance class P6 or ABEC 3. This combination ensures precise concentricity on the shaft and promotes smooth operation with standardised mounting dimensions.
As this is an open bearing without integrated sealing washers, lubrication must be supplied via the surrounding structure. Depending on the operating conditions and rotational speeds, lubrication can be provided using grease or via an oil bath. The outer ring does not have its own lubrication groove.
