The FAG NJ2310 -E-M1 cylindrical roller bearing, with a 50 mm bore and a brass cage, can accommodate high radial loads as well as unilateral axial forces.
This single-row cylindrical roller bearing, the NJ2310 -E-M1 from FAG Rolling Bearings, is used in industrial applications that require a high radial load capacity. With key dimensions of a 50 mm bore, 110 mm outer diameter and 40 mm width, the design features solid flanges on the outer ring and a single-sided flange on the inner ring. This enables the bearing to function as a support bearing. The integrated brass cage guides the rolling elements in an organised manner within the roller set.
As a support bearing, the NJ2310 -E-M1 cylindrical roller bearing is suitable for bearing arrangements subject to a predominantly radial load, where the shaft must also be guided in an axial direction. Conversely, the design allows for axial displacement of the rings relative to one another, which compensates for changes in the shaft’s length. Typical applications are found in general mechanical engineering for shaft bearings subjected to one-sided axial forces. The permissible temperature range is from –30 to +150 degrees Celsius.
The NJ design denotes cylindrical roller bearings with two fixed flanges on the outer ring and one flange on the inner ring. This allows the inner ring to be removed from one side, which simplifies the separate assembly of both bearing rings. For maintenance engineers and designers, this ability to dismantle the bearing facilitates installation in cases of tight fits. The brass cage guides the cylindrical rollers and is particularly suitable for demanding operating conditions involving vibrations or acceleration forces. As an open bearing, this variant requires external sealing of the housing assembly as well as a suitable lubricant supply.
Two solid flanges on the outer ring and one flange on the inner ring enable the bearing to accommodate radial loads and unilateral axial forces. In the opposite direction, the design allows for axial displacement of the shaft.
With a bore of 50 mm, an external diameter of 110 mm and a width of 40 mm, this version requires standardised installation space on the shaft and within the housing. These key dimensions are crucial for the structural design of the bearing mounting.
Thanks to the single flange on the inner ring, this ring can be pulled out of the rolling element assembly from one side. This detachable design simplifies assembly and disassembly, as the shaft and housing can be fitted with their respective rings independently of one another.
Brass, when used as a cage material, is characterised by high strength and good guiding properties. The cage maintains the cylinder rollers at a uniform distance and is suitable for bearings subject to vibrations, shock loads or higher inertial forces.
As the cylindrical roller bearing has no integrated seals, grease or lubricating oil reaches the rollers and raceways directly. The user must protect the bearing housing from the ingress of dirt and from lubricant loss.
Normal radial bearing clearance refers to the standard radial clearance between the rolling elements and the raceways when the bearing is unloaded. This design ensures reliable operation under conventional fit selections and operating temperatures.
