The SKF N219 ECP cylindrical roller bearing (95x170x32 mm) functions as a single-row non-locating bearing with a polyamide cage, designed to accommodate high radial loads.
The N219 ECP cylindrical roller bearing offers a high radial load capacity due to the line contact between the rollers and raceways. Its design as a non-locating bearing allows for the free compensation of changes in shaft length within the housing. With a bore of 95 mm, an outside diameter of 170 mm and a width of 32 mm, the design complies with standardised dimensions for demanding shaft support applications in mechanical engineering.
This single-row roller bearing is particularly suitable for mounting positions where thermal linear expansion of the shaft occurs. As the outer ring is flangeless and removable from both sides, the roller assembly, together with the inner ring, moves freely within the bearing. This benefits bearing arrangements where purely radial loads must be supported and axial forces are supported separately via a fixed bearing.
The material of the polyamide cage is characterised by low friction and elastic properties, which contributes to smooth running at operating temperatures ranging from –30 to +120 degrees. The N design allows both bearing rings to be fitted separately, which facilitates installation in enclosed housings. As the bearing is of an open design and the outer ring has no groove or lubrication bore, you can tailor the lubricant supply and external sealing directly to your environmental conditions.
A single-row cylindrical roller bearing of this design guides the cylindrical rollers on the inner ring between two fixed flanges, whilst the outer ring has no flanges. This allows the outer ring to move freely in the axial direction and acts purely as a non-locating bearing. The SKF Explorer version also features an optimised internal design and a lightweight polyamide cage.
The bearing has an inner diameter of 95 mm, an outer diameter of 170 mm and a total width of 32 mm. These key dimensions determine the interfaces with the shaft and the bearing seat. Thanks to its separable design, the inner and outer rings can be handled independently of one another during measurement and installation.
The flangeless outer ring allows the rolling elements to move axially relative to the housing. Thermal expansion or manufacturing tolerances of the shaft therefore do not result in internal axial stresses within the bearing. The N219 ECP cylindrical roller bearing transmits radial forces only, whilst axial forces must be absorbed by a separate fixed bearing arrangement.
An operating temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees is permitted. These limits are primarily determined by the thermal resistance of the polyamide cage. When selecting the grease or oil, the operating temperature should be taken into account to ensure continuous lubrication of the contact surfaces.
The bearing has the standard radial clearance for normal operating conditions and fit conditions. The manufacturing precision includes dimensional accuracy to tolerance class P0/PN (corresponding to ABEC 1) and increased running accuracy of class P6 (corresponding to ABEC 3), thereby ensuring precise concentricity during rotation.
As an open cylindrical roller bearing, the design is intended for installation locations that are sealed by the surrounding housing. The absence of integrated sealing washers allows for flexible lubrication via the operational oil or grease circuit. At the same time, the open design facilitates inspection of the raceways during maintenance intervals.
