The FAG NU315 -E-XL-TVP2 cylindrical roller bearing, a single-row idler bearing measuring 75 × 160 × 37 mm, offers a high radial load-carrying capacity.
The FAG NU315 -E-XL-TVP2 cylindrical roller bearing is designed for industrial applications in which radial forces act on the shaft. Thanks to the line contact of the cylindrical rolling elements, the bearing can accommodate high radial loads. With a bore of 75 mm, an outside diameter of 160 mm and a width of 37 mm, this design is suitable as a compact bearing unit for demanding mechanical shaft mountings.
Its main area of application is in bearing arrangements where high radial forces occur and, at the same time, thermally induced changes in shaft length need to be compensated for. As a floating bearing, the NU design allows for free axial movement between the inner ring and the outer ring directly within the bearing.
As the outer ring has two fixed guide flanges and the inner ring is manufactured without flanges, the roller bearing reliably provides radial guidance. At the same time, the inner ring remains removable from both sides, which facilitates the separate installation of the shaft and housing.
The TVP2 polyamide cage guides the rolling elements quietly and has a low weight. This cage material is designed for a temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees. The elasticity of the material also dampens dynamic loads at varying speeds.
The open design, without integrated seals, allows for the free circulation of externally supplied lubricants. Both bearing rings can be pressed on separately and then joined together, which simplifies the assembly process in enclosed designs.
In the NU315 -E-XL-TVP2 cylindrical roller bearing, the outer ring guides the rollers via two fixed flanges, whilst the inner ring can be removed from both sides. This enables the bearing to absorb radial forces and allows for axial movement of the shaft within the housing. Length changes resulting from temperature fluctuations are compensated for without causing stress.
With an internal diameter of 75 mm, an external diameter of 160 mm and a width of 37 mm, the bearing complies with standardised dimensions. When designing the bearing assembly, the housing and shaft seat must be adapted to these dimensions and to tolerance class P0.
The polyamide cage (TVP2) of this FAG bearing is designed for a temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees. Within these limits, the material retains its mechanical strength and elasticity. Any surrounding seals and lubricants should also be suitable for this temperature range.
The standard radial bearing clearance refers to the standard radial clearance between the cylindrical rollers and the inner and outer rings when the bearing is unmounted. This clearance takes into account the usual fit selected during assembly, so that the operating clearance required to guide the shaft is established during operation.
As the bearing is manufactured as an open design without integrated seals, protection against foreign particles and lubricant loss is provided by the surrounding machine housing. The supply of grease or oil is provided via an external system to lubricate the contact between the rolling elements and the raceways.
The bearing is manufactured to tolerance class P0 or PN, which corresponds to class ABEC 1. This tolerance class defines the permissible dimensional and concentricity deviations for industrial applications, in order to ensure precise operation whilst meeting standardised requirements for the mating parts.
