FAG NU2310 -E-XL-TVP2 cylindrical roller bearing: A single-row idler bearing with a polyamide cage and main dimensions of 50 × 110 × 40 mm, designed to accommodate high radial loads.
The FAG NU2310 -E-XL-TVP2 cylindrical roller bearing serves as an open idler bearing for withstanding high radial loads in mechanical engineering and drive technology. Thanks to the line contact between the rollers and raceways, the design can withstand high radial loads. With dimensions of 50 mm bore, 110 mm outside diameter and 40 mm width, this single-row unit is suitable for bearing arrangements subject to demanding conditions.
This floating bearing is used in shaft mountings where thermal length changes must be compensated for without restriction. The flangeless inner ring allows the shaft to move axially relative to the housing. Typical applications include bearing arrangements in mechanical engineering subject to high radial loads. As this is an open bearing without an integrated seal, lubrication is supplied via the housing cavity.
The polyamide cage, identified by the suffix TVP2, guides the rollers with low friction and ensures smooth running of the bearing assembly. In combination with the standard radial bearing clearance and tolerance class P0 or ABEC 1, the unit is designed for operating temperatures ranging from –30 to +120 degrees Celsius. The design facilitates installation: the inner ring can be removed from both sides, allowing the outer ring assembly and the inner ring to be mounted separately onto the shaft and housing.
The NU design features two fixed flanges on the outer ring, whilst the inner ring is flangeless. As a result, the bearing functions purely as a non-locating bearing. It accommodates radial loads only and allows for axial movement of the shaft within the bearing. The inner ring can be removed from either side to simplify installation.
The bearing has an inside diameter of 50 mm, an outside diameter of 110 mm and a width across flats of 40 mm. These standardised key dimensions enable it to be fitted precisely into corresponding housing bores and onto suitable shaft seats. There are no additional lubrication grooves or lubrication holes on the outer ring of this design.
The cage, marked TVP2, is made of polyamide and maintains a precise spacing between the cylindrical rollers. This material reduces the weight of the roller guide and ensures smooth running-in and quiet operation. It is suitable for the specified standard temperature range of the bearing housing.
The permissible temperature range for the cylindrical roller bearing is between -30 and +120 degrees Celsius. These limits are determined by the materials used for the bearing rings, the rolling elements and the polyamide cage. To ensure safe operation within this range, the lubricant used must also be suitable for the respective operating temperature.
The model is manufactured with standard radial bearing clearance and complies with the standard specifications for general mechanical engineering. The dimensional and concentricity accuracy meets tolerance class P0 or ABEC 1. This combination covers standard installation tolerances, provided that no deviating operating conditions require increased bearing clearance.
As this is an open design without integrated sealing washers, the housing design itself provides protection against dirt and moisture. External sealing elements, such as shaft seals or labyrinth seals, protect the lubricant chamber and help to keep foreign particles out of the raceways.
