The FAG NU2211 -E-XL-TVP2 cylindrical roller bearing, a single-row idler bearing measuring 55x100x25 mm, offers a high radial load-carrying capacity.
The NU2211 -E-XL-TVP2 cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row rolling bearing for industrial applications subject to purely radial loads. As an open idler bearing, this design allows for axial length compensation directly within the bearing. The inner ring can be removed from both sides, which facilitates fitting and maintenance on the shaft. Fitted with a dimensionally stable polyamide cage, the bearing is suitable for operating temperatures ranging from –30 to +120 degrees Celsius with normal radial clearance.
This cylindrical roller bearing is primarily used in bearing arrangements where thermally induced changes in shaft length must be compensated for without constraint. Due to the line contact of the cylindrical rollers, the bearing can accommodate high radial forces. Typical applications are found in industrial bearing arrangements with purely radial loads in mechanical engineering. As the NU design cannot accommodate axial forces, the component is usually fitted in combination with a separate fixed bearing on the opposite side.
The abbreviation NU denotes two fixed flanges on the outer ring, whilst the inner ring is flangeless and removable from both sides. The suffix TVP2 indicates a polyamide cage. This type of cage is characterised by its low weight and good damping properties, and operates quietly. The bearing has a standard radial clearance and complies with tolerance class P0/PN (ABEC 1). External lubrication is required for correct operation, as the bearing is manufactured as an open type without integrated seals.
The bearing has an inner diameter of 55 mm, an outer diameter of 100 mm and a width of 25 mm. These metric dimensions allow for precise fitting into housings and onto shafts. The single-row roller arrangement makes efficient use of the radial installation space to accommodate high loads.
In the NU design, the outer ring has two fixed flanges which guide the cylindrical rollers. The inner ring has no flanges and can be pulled out axially in either direction. As a result, the component acts purely as a non-locating bearing, compensating for axial displacement of the shaft relative to the housing with low friction.
The designation TVP2 indicates a polyamide cage. This material reduces the weight of the rotating components, dampens running noise and reduces friction losses. It is designed for an operating temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees Celsius and ensures the smooth guidance of the cylindrical rollers within the bearing.
This bearing has standard radial clearance (CN). This means that the radial clearance between the rollers and raceways, in the unloaded initial state, complies with standard specifications. This design is suitable for the vast majority of industrial applications involving conventional operating temperatures and standard fit conditions on the shaft and housing.
The permissible temperature range for the cylindrical roller bearing is from -30 to +120 degrees Celsius. Both the materials used for the bearing rings and the polyamide cage are designed for this operating range. During operation, it is important to ensure that the selected lubricant is also approved for the relevant ambient temperatures.
The bearing is designed as an open component without integrated seals and has no lubrication groove in the outer ring. Protection against dirt and moisture, as well as lubrication with grease or oil, must be provided by the surrounding housing structure. The frequency of relubrication depends on the operating conditions of the system.
