The SKF NU219 ECP cylindrical roller bearing, measuring 95x170x32 mm, offers high radial load-carrying capacity as a separable idler bearing with a polyamide cage.
The single-row NU219 ECP cylindrical roller bearing from SKF, as a radial non-locating bearing, withstands high radial loads and compensates for axial length changes in the shaft within the bearing. With dimensions of 95 mm bore, 170 mm outside diameter and 32 mm width, the unshielded version is used in oil- or grease-lubricated systems. The Explorer version features an optimised internal design, whilst the polyamide cage ensures smooth guidance of the cylindrical rollers.
This rolling bearing is particularly recommended for bearing arrangements subject to purely radial forces, where thermal linear expansion of the shaft occurs. Thanks to the NU design, which has no flanges on the inner ring, the shaft moves axially relative to the housing without constraint. Typical applications include shaft mountings where purely radial forces are acting and rigid bearing arrangements would generate undesirable stresses. As the bearing is of an open design, the surrounding structure must provide suitable external sealing and a lubricant supply.
The NU design allows the inner ring and outer ring to be fitted separately from the roller set. This facilitates installation and removal work on shaft ends that are difficult to access and simplifies maintenance procedures. The polyamide cage, due to its low weight, reduces inertial forces and operates quietly within the permissible temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees. The manufacturing specifications comply with dimensional accuracy class P0 or ABEC 1 and running accuracy class P6 or ABEC 3 with standard radial bearing clearance.
The NU design features two fixed flanges on the outer ring, whilst the inner ring is flangeless and can be removed from either side. As a result, the rolling bearing functions purely as a non-locating bearing. It accommodates radial loads only and allows for axial displacement of the shaft within the bearing without generating internal stresses in the system.
The cylindrical roller bearing has an inner diameter of 95 mm, an outer diameter of 170 mm and a width of 32 mm. Thanks to these standardised key dimensions, the open bearing can be fitted into existing housings, provided that a lubricant supply and external seals are available on site.
The ECP designation indicates an optimised internal design with increased load-carrying capacity, combined with a polyamide cage. This lightweight plastic cage guides the rolling elements precisely, dampens running noise and is designed for operation within a temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees.
In this model, the dimensional accuracy complies with the standard tolerance P0 or ABEC 1, whilst the running accuracy is designed to the tighter tolerance class P6 or ABEC 3. This combination ensures low-vibration concentricity with standardised fit accuracy for installation on shafts and in housing bores.
The bearing is manufactured with standard radial clearance, which covers standard operation at typical operating temperatures and fit conditions. The radial clearance between the cylindrical rollers and the raceways ensures that the components can rotate freely during operation without undue jamming.
The open design, which does not feature integrated sealing washers, allows for flexible lubrication of the housing cavity using oil or grease. It also enables the inner ring to be completely removed during assembly. This is provided that sealing elements in the adjacent structure protect the bearing against the ingress of dirt and the loss of lubricant.
