SKF NU215 ECP/C3 single-row cylindrical roller bearing with a 75 mm bore, polyamide cage and C3 clearance for radial loads in free-end applications.
The SKF NU215 ECP/C3 cylindrical roller bearing is a radial-load-capable rolling bearing for industrial applications with a purely free-end function. With a bore of 75 mm, an outer diameter of 130 mm and a width of 25 mm, this single-row component can accommodate high radial forces. The inner ring, which can be removed from both ends, facilitates assembly and allows for separate fit selection for the shaft and housing.
This non-locating bearing compensates for operational length expansion of the shaft without constraint within the raceway. The NU design guides the cylindrical rollers via two fixed flanges on the outer ring, whilst the flangeless inner ring allows axial displacement in both directions. Thanks to its optimised internal design and low-friction polyamide cage, this component is particularly suitable for shaft guides where high radial forces are transmitted without an axial guidance function.
The designation ECP indicates the optimised internal geometry in combination with a lightweight polyamide cage that reacts elastically to impact loads. The radial bearing clearance C3 deliberately provides more radial play than the standard version. This increased clearance counteracts bearing stress should temperature differences arise between the inner and outer rings or should tight fits restrict the operating clearance. External sealing and lubrication must be provided to ensure reliable operation.
The designation NU refers to a cylindrical roller bearing with two fixed flanges on the outer ring and a smooth, flangeless inner ring. The inner ring can be removed from either side. This design therefore allows for axial length compensation within the bearing and functions within the shaft assembly as a purely support bearing without bearing any axial load.
The bearing has an inside diameter of 75 mm, an outside diameter of 130 mm and a width of 25 mm. These standardised key dimensions allow for direct replacement in existing housings and on suitable shaft seats.
Bearing clearance group C3 is above the normal range. It provides additional space to accommodate thermal expansion during operation when the inner ring becomes warmer than the outer ring. Even with tight fits on the shaft or housing, the increased bearing clearance effectively compensates for radial constriction.
The component is designed for use within a temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees Celsius. The integrated polyamide cage remains dimensionally stable and elastic within this temperature range. Higher continuous temperatures should be avoided so as not to impair the material properties of the cage.
Open cylindrical roller bearings are used in housing designs where external seals protect the lubricant chamber. The open design facilitates flushing and the flow of lubricant in oil or grease lubrication systems, and allows the rings to be fitted separately.
The bearing has a dimensional accuracy of Class P0 or standard tolerance (ABEC 1). Its running accuracy corresponds to the tighter tolerance of Class P6 (ABEC 3), which helps to ensure smoother concentricity during rotation.
