The SKF NU210 ECP/C3 single-row cylindrical roller bearing, measuring 50x90x20 mm, provides radial support with a slightly increased C3 clearance.
The NU210 ECP/C3 cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row roller bearing designed for radial loads in industrial machinery. SKF manufactures this model with an optimised internal design featuring a lightweight polyamide cage. The NU design allows the inner ring to be removed from both sides, which simplifies the separate assembly of the inner and outer rings. As an open rolling bearing without sealing washers, the component is designed for an operating temperature range of –30 to +120 degrees.
As a floating bearing, this design compensates for axial changes in shaft length without constraint, as the inner ring can move relative to the roller set. Thanks to the line contact between the rollers and the raceway, the bearing can accommodate high radial forces. It is used in bearing arrangements designed to withstand purely radial loads, where no axial guidance is required. As the outer ring has no groove or lubrication bore, the lubricant is supplied directly via the bearing housing.
The polyamide material reduces the weight of the cage and promotes smooth, low-friction operation. The suffix ‘C3’ indicates a slightly increased radial clearance compared with the standard version. This additional internal clearance helps to prevent the rolling elements from becoming stressed if temperature differences occur between the shaft and housing during operation, or if tight fits are selected. With dimensional accuracy to P0 or ABEC 1 and running accuracy to P6 or ABEC 3, the component meets defined tolerance specifications.
The bearing has an inside diameter of 50 mm, an outside diameter of 90 mm and a width of 20 mm. These key dimensions determine the space required on the shaft and in the housing seat.
The designation C3 indicates a larger radial bearing clearance than the standard. This is advantageous where tight fits reduce the bearing clearance after installation, or where thermal expansion of the shaft needs to be compensated for during operation.
In the NU design, the outer ring has two fixed flanges, whilst the inner ring is flangeless. This allows the inner ring to be withdrawn from both sides, enabling the rolling bearing to act as a pure support bearing and accommodate axial displacement within the assembly.
The designation ‘ECP’ indicates a polyamide cage. This cage is characterised by its low weight, elastic properties and good running characteristics when lubricated with oil or grease.
The bearing is specified for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +120 degrees. As this is an open design without integrated sealing washers, its use requires the bearing housing to be sealed externally to prevent contamination and lubricant loss.
This roller bearing combines dimensional accuracy of class P0 or ABEC 1 with enhanced running accuracy of class P6 or ABEC 3. The component therefore offers defined concentricity for demanding industrial applications.
