The FAG NU209 -E-XL-TVP2 cylindrical roller bearing, with dimensions of 45x85x19 mm and a polyamide cage, offers a robust solution for purely radial guidance as a non-locating bearing.
The FAG NU209 -E-XL-TVP2 cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row radial roller bearing for industrial drive and machine designs. With an inner diameter of 45 mm, an outer diameter of 85 mm and a width of 19 mm, this design can withstand high radial forces. Thanks to the line contact between the rollers and raceways, the design withstands heavy loads. Designed as an open bearing, the component is intended for environments where external sealing and on-site lubrication with oil or grease are provided.
The NU209 -E-XL-TVP2 cylindrical roller bearing accommodates high radial loads and compensates for thermally induced changes in shaft length. The NU design functions as a classic non-locating bearing, as the inner ring is manufactured without a flange and accommodates axial displacement within the bearing without constraint.
It is primarily used in shaft mountings where purely radial forces are present. As the inner ring can be removed from both sides, both rings can be fitted separately, which facilitates installation in enclosed housings.
The integrated polyamide cage guides the rollers with low friction and is characterised by its low weight. This choice of material ensures smooth running within the permissible temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees. When selecting the bearing, please note that it is manufactured with standard radial clearance and to standard tolerance P0. As the outer ring has no lubrication bore or groove, lubricant is supplied from the side. For applications involving additional axial forces, a separate fixed bearing on the shaft is required.
The bearing has a bore of 45 mm, an outer diameter of 85 mm and a total width of 19 mm. These key dimensions enable the roller bearing to be fitted precisely into the corresponding housing and shaft seats.
In the NU design, the outer ring has two fixed guide flanges, whilst the inner ring has no flanges. This allows the inner ring to be pulled out axially in both directions. During operation, the component acts purely as a non-locating bearing, which compensates for the shaft’s linear expansion with low friction without absorbing any axial forces.
The permissible operating temperature range for the bearing is between -30 and +120 degrees. This range is largely determined by the polyamide cage fitted. To ensure trouble-free operation, the lubricant used must also be suitable for the respective operating temperature within these limits.
Designed as an open bearing, this version does not feature integrated grinding or cover discs. This allows for free flushing with lubricating oil or the targeted application of roller bearing grease. Sealing against dirt and moisture must be provided structurally by the surrounding assembly, for example by means of shaft seals or labyrinth seals.
The designation TVP2 refers to a polyamide cage. This material reduces the weight of the rotating cage assembly compared with metal cages and provides favourable sliding properties for the rolling elements. The polyamide cage contributes to quiet operation and is designed for operating temperatures of up to +120 degrees.
The model is manufactured with standard radial bearing clearance. This standard radial clearance is designed for typical fits on the shaft and housing, as well as average operating temperatures. This helps to ensure that the cylindrical rollers retain sufficient freedom of movement after installation and prevents the rolling elements from becoming jammed.
