The FAG NUP2316 -E-XL-TVP2 cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row fixed bearing with an 80 mm bore, an outer diameter of 170 mm and a width of 58 mm.
The NUP2316 -E-XL-TVP2 cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row radial roller bearing from FAG Rolling Bearings with a cylindrical bore. Due to the line contact between the rollers and the hardened raceways, this roller bearing can accommodate high radial loads. As a fixed bearing, the NUP design guides the shaft in both axial directions. This design is used where defined axial guidance and high load-carrying capacity with normal bearing clearance are required. The permissible temperature range is from -30 to +120 degrees.
This cylindrical roller bearing is designed for bearing arrangements in which significant radial forces and axial guidance forces on both sides occur. Typical applications include mechanical shaft bearings subjected to combined loads. As this is an open bearing without integrated seals, the surrounding structure protects it from dirt. A suitable lubricant – lubricating oil or grease – continuously lubricates the raceways. The polyamide cage also ensures smooth running.
The NUP designation defines the design as a fixed bearing: two fixed flanges on the outer ring and one fixed flange with a loose flange disc on the inner ring guide the shaft axially in both directions. The cage material, polyamide (TVP2), ensures that the rotating parts have a low weight and dampens running noise. With tolerance class P0 (ABEC 1), the bearing meets standard industrial requirements. When designing the application, care must be taken to ensure that the operating temperature does not exceed 120 degrees.
The main dimensions are 80 mm for the bore (internal diameter), 170 mm for the external diameter and a width of 58 mm. These dimensions determine the installation space required on the shaft and within the bearing housing. These values can be checked against the design drawing prior to assembly.
The NUP design denotes a fixed bearing. The outer ring has two fixed guide flanges, whilst the inner ring has one fixed flange and one loose flange disc. This arrangement enables the bearing to accommodate not only heavy radial forces but also axial forces from both directions.
The suffix TVP2 denotes a polyamide cage. This material is characterised by its low weight, which reduces inertial forces during changes in rotational speed. Furthermore, the plastic cage contributes to smooth, low-vibration operation. It is designed for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +120 degrees.
This model is manufactured with standard radial bearing clearance. Bearing clearance refers to the radial play of the rollers between the raceways when the bearing is unloaded. Standard bearing clearance is suitable for typical fits and standard applications where no extreme temperature differences occur between the shaft and the housing during operation.
As the bearing is of an open design, it does not come fitted with sealing washers as standard. Protection against dirt and moisture is therefore provided by external seals incorporated into the housing design. Depending on your requirements and the operating speed, you can choose to lubricate the bearing with lubricating oil or special roller bearing grease.
The cylindrical roller bearing complies with tolerance class P0 (standard tolerance, comparable to ABEC 1). This manufacturing accuracy meets the requirements for dimensional, form and running tolerances in general mechanical engineering. Special high-precision fits are not required for this standard tolerance.
