The SKF NUP212 ECP cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row fixed bearing with a 60 mm bore, designed for high radial loads and axial guidance in both directions.
The SKF NUP212 ECP single-row cylindrical roller bearing, when used as a fixed bearing, withstands high radial forces and guides shafts in both axial directions. As part of the SKF Explorer class with an optimised internal design, this rolling bearing is designed for demanding industrial applications. With dimensions of a 60 mm bore, 110 mm outer diameter and 22 mm width, this open cylindrical roller bearing fits into standardised bearing housings.
Designs of the NUP type are suitable for shaft supports that, in addition to primary radial forces, also perform axial guidance functions in both directions. The rolling bearing is used in drive and gearbox applications requiring a fixed bearing. The open bearing requires an external supply of oil or grease via the housing, as the outer ring has no groove or lubrication bore. When properly lubricated, the bearing can operate at temperatures ranging from –30 to +120 degrees Celsius.
The ECP designation stands for an optimised internal design in combination with a polyamide cage. This cage reduces the weight compared with solid metal cages and contributes to smooth running characteristics and low noise levels. Together with dimensional accuracy to tolerance class P0 (ABEC 1) and increased running accuracy to P6 (ABEC 3), the standard radial bearing clearance ensures stable operation with standard fits. When designing the system, please note the permissible temperature range of the cage, which is up to +120 degrees Celsius.
NUP-type bearings are used as fixed bearings for the axial guidance of shafts on both sides. They feature two fixed flanges on the outer ring and one fixed flange and one loose flange disc on the inner ring. This enables the bearing arrangement to accommodate not only high radial forces but also alternating axial loads in both directions.
The bearing has an inside diameter of 60 mm, an outside diameter of 110 mm and a width of 22 mm. These dimensions correspond to the standardised main dimensions for single-row cylindrical roller bearings of this size and allow for a precise fit in standardised housing bores and on corresponding shaft seats.
The suffix ‘ECP’ denotes an optimised internal design in the SKF Explorer series, featuring a tailored roller guide and a polyamide cage. The polyamide cage guides the rolling elements with low friction, reduces the bearing’s weight and contributes to quiet operation.
The permissible operating temperature range is between -30 and +120 degrees Celsius. This range is largely determined by the polyamide cage. In applications within this temperature range, the cage material retains its dimensional stability, provided that a suitable industrial lubricating oil or rolling-element bearing grease is used for lubrication.
As an open roller bearing, this design has neither integrated sealing washers nor cover plates. Furthermore, as the outer ring is manufactured without a groove or lubrication bore, lubricant is supplied directly into the bearing cavity or via the surrounding housing structure. An external seal on the housing protects the interior of the bearing from the ingress of dirt.
The bearing combines dimensional accuracy to Class P0 (equivalent to ABEC 1) with finer running accuracy to Class P6 (equivalent to ABEC 3). As a result, the bearing combines standard tolerances for mounting dimensions with higher concentricity, which reduces vibrations during operation and promotes uniform contact between the cylindrical rollers.
