The single-row cylindrical roller bearing NUP209 -E-XL-TVP2 from FAG (45x85x19 mm) serves as a fixed bearing designed to accommodate high radial loads and provide axial guidance on both sides.
The NUP209 -E-XL-TVP2 cylindrical roller bearing from FAG Rolling Bearings is a single-row roller bearing with a cylindrical bore. With an inner diameter of 45 mm, an outer diameter of 85 mm and a width of 19 mm, this design can accommodate high radial loads. Due to the NUP design, the component has two fixed flanges on the outer ring and one fixed flange and one loose flange disc on the inner ring. This makes this roller bearing suitable for the axial fixation of shafts on both sides in mechanical drives and machine systems.
Design engineers primarily use this cylindrical roller bearing where high radial forces are combined with additional axial guidance on both sides. The fixed bearing design guides the shaft in both axial directions and limits axial displacement. Typical applications include shaft mountings in gearboxes and rotating drives. Thanks to the line contact between the rollers and raceways, the component absorbs high radial forces whilst the bearing’s guidance remains stable during operation.
The TVP2 polyamide cage guides the cylindrical rollers with low friction and ensures smooth running whilst having a lower weight than solid metal cages. The permissible temperature range is from –30 to +120 degrees Celsius. As this is an open bearing without an integrated seal and without a lubrication groove in the outer ring, lubrication and sealing are provided by the surrounding housing structure. The standard radial bearing clearance ensures the correct operating clearance under standard mounting conditions.
With a bore of 45 mm, an outside diameter of 85 mm and a width of 19 mm, the bearing complies with standardised dimensions. These dimensions allow for a precise fit when installed in housings and on shafts, with the relevant dimensional alignment to tolerance class P0.
The NUP design is characterised by two solid flanges on the outer ring and a solid flange with a loose flange disc on the inner ring. This arrangement secures the shaft in both axial directions and allows the bearing to act as a fixed bearing.
Thanks to its low weight, the polyamide cage reduces inertial forces during operation and ensures the rollers run quietly. The material dampens vibrations and operates with low friction. The cage is designed for temperatures ranging from -30 to +120 degrees Celsius, making it suitable for a wide range of operating environments.
As the bearing has neither integrated sealing washers nor lubrication holes in the outer ring, the lubricant is supplied via the housing design. The bearing can be lubricated with either grease or oil. External sealing elements, such as shaft seals, protect the rolling elements from contamination and lubricant loss.
This bearing air clearance class, with reference to CN, offers a balanced combination of guiding accuracy and smooth running. It is designed for standard applications with typical fits and average operating temperatures, where no increased compensation for thermal expansion is required.
As the standard precision grade for industrial bearings in accordance with ISO standards, tolerance class P0 – comparable to ABEC 1 – defines mandatory limit dimensions for bore, outer diameter and concentricity. This tolerance class precisely meets the requirements of common industrial applications in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications.
