The FAG NJ2314 -E-XL-TVP2 cylindrical roller bearing, measuring 70 × 150 × 51 mm, serves as a radial support bearing with single-sided axial guidance.
As a single-row cylindrical roller bearing, the NJ2314 -E-XL-TVP2 can withstand very high radial loads. With a bore of 70 mm, an outside diameter of 150 mm and a width of 51 mm, this rolling bearing is suitable for demanding industrial applications. The manufacturer, FAG, fits this version with a lightweight polyamide cage. Designed as an open bearing, it can be flexibly integrated into lubricated housing designs and operates within a temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees.
The NJ2314 -E-XL-TVP2 cylindrical roller bearing primarily absorbs loads where high radial forces act within a confined installation space. Due to its NJ design, the bearing functions as a support bearing: It guides the shaft in one axial direction whilst allowing axial displacement in the opposite direction. The inner ring, which can be removed from one side, also facilitates the separate assembly of the shaft and housing. The outer ring has no groove or lubrication bore, ensuring a sealed housing fit.
The polyamide cage, designated TVP2, guides the cylindrical rollers with low friction and dampens vibrations during operation. The low weight of the plastic reduces centrifugal forces during changes in rotational speed. Together with the standard radial bearing clearance and the standard tolerance class P0 (ABEC 1), this variant is ideally suited to precise shaft guidance under balanced thermal conditions. As the open bearing has no integrated seals, you should ensure that the adjacent structure provides suitable sealing and a lubricant supply.
In the NJ design, the outer ring has two solid flanges and the inner ring has one solid flange. This enables the bearing to accommodate radial forces as well as axial guidance forces from one direction. The inner ring can be pulled out to one side, which facilitates installation on the shaft and in the housing.
The roller bearing has a bore of 70 mm, an outside diameter of 150 mm and a width across flats of 51 mm. These standardised key dimensions determine the required installation space on the shaft and within the bearing housing. It is manufactured to the standard tolerance class P0 or ABEC 1.
The suffix TVP2 denotes a version with a polyamide cage. This material is characterised by low friction and a low weight. The cage guides the rollers precisely and is suitable for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +120 degrees. Furthermore, the material absorbs shocks and ensures quiet operation.
As an open bearing, this design has neither cover plates nor sealing discs. This allows the lubricant to flow freely from the housing to the raceways and rollers. To protect the interior of the bearing from dirt and moisture, sealing must be provided by the surrounding structure of the plant.
Standard radial bearing clearance refers to the standard radial clearance between the rollers and the raceways when the bearing is unloaded. This design is intended for typical fit conditions and operating conditions where no significant temperature differences between the inner and outer rings are to be expected.
The bearing has a permissible operating temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees. This range is primarily limited by the polyamide cage used. When designing the bearing assembly, care should be taken to ensure that the selected lubricant is also rated for the temperatures encountered within this range.
