The SKF NJ2305 ECP cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row support bearing measuring 25 × 62 × 24 mm, designed for high radial loads in industrial machinery.
The NJ2305 ECP cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row roller bearing from the SKF Explorer series with an optimised internal design. Designed for a 25 mm shaft diameter, 62 mm outer diameter and 24 mm width, this bearing accommodates high radial forces. The open design allows the lubricant to be flexibly adapted to the operating environment. With its combination of dimensional accuracy to P0/ABEC 1 and increased running accuracy to P6/ABEC 3, the component meets precise guidance requirements in industrial bearing applications.
This cylindrical roller bearing is primarily used where high radial loads act on rotating shafts. As a support bearing, the NJ design guides the shaft in one axial direction whilst allowing axial displacement in the opposite direction. This enables the bearing arrangement to compensate effortlessly for thermally induced changes in length. The temperature range is from –30 to +120 degrees.
The NJ design features two fixed flanges on the outer ring and one fixed flange on the inner ring. This allows the inner ring to be removed from one side, which simplifies the assembly and disassembly of the bearing unit. At the same time, the component absorbs axial forces in one direction. The polyamide cage guides the cylindrical rollers quietly and reduces the moving mass within the bearing. When designing the bearing, please note that the standard radial clearance must be matched to the selected shaft and housing fits.
This single-row cylindrical roller bearing accommodates high radial loads and serves as a support bearing. It has two fixed flanges on the outer ring and one fixed flange on the removable inner ring. With dimensions of a 25 mm bore, 62 mm outer diameter and 24 mm width, it is suitable for compact, heavy-duty bearing arrangements in industrial applications.
The designation NJ refers to a support bearing whose inner ring is flangeless on one side. This allows the shaft to move axially relative to the housing in one direction, whilst being guided in the opposite direction. This feature compensates for changes in length due to heating and facilitates the separate installation of the inner and outer rings.
At SKF, the suffix ‘ECP’ denotes an optimised internal design combined with a polyamide cage. This design is characterised by good damping properties and a low cage weight. It is suitable for operating temperatures between -30 and +120 degrees in standard mechanical engineering applications.
As an open roller bearing, this design does not feature any integrated sealing washers. You lubricate the bearing via the housing system using grease or oil, depending on the speed requirements and ambient conditions. The lubricant must remain effective within the permissible temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees.
The bearing combines dimensional accuracy of class P0 (standard tolerance, ABEC 1) with improved running accuracy of class P6 (ABEC 3). As a result, it offers a standardised fit in housings and on shafts, whilst its concentricity during operation meets higher accuracy requirements.
The standard radial bearing clearance describes the radial movement of the rollers when the bearing is unmounted, prior to installation. When pressed onto the shaft and housing, this clearance is reduced due to the elastic expansion of the inner ring and the constriction of the outer ring. For standard fit conditions, the required operating clearance is then maintained.
