The FAG NJ2222 -E-M1 cylindrical roller bearing (110x200x53 mm) can withstand very high radial loads and supports shafts axially in one direction.
The FAG NJ2222 -E-M1 cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row radial roller bearing designed for demanding industrial applications. With a bore of 110 mm, an outer diameter of 200 mm and a width of 53 mm, this roller bearing accommodates high radial loads. The line contact of the cylindrical rollers distributes the load evenly across the raceways. The open design has no integrated seal and is designed for externally lubricated bearing housings.
This cylindrical roller bearing is primarily used where high radial loads occur and the shaft needs to be axially guided. As an NJ-type bearing, it functions as a support bearing: it absorbs radial forces and supports axial forces from one direction. The axial displacement in the opposite direction allows for the compensation of thermal length changes in the shaft within the housing.
The solid brass cage guides the rolling elements stably and withstands even dynamic loads or vibrations. During installation, the flange geometry is crucial: the inner ring has a flange and can be removed from one side, which facilitates the separate assembly of the bearing rings. As the bearing is of an open design and the outer ring has no lubrication bore, the lubricant is supplied via the adjacent structure. The permissible temperature range is from -30 to +150 degrees.
The bearing has an internal diameter of 110 mm, an external diameter of 200 mm and a width of 53 mm. These dimensions correspond to the standardised NJ2222 series. Before installation, the shaft seat and housing bore must be checked to ensure that the required installation dimensions and fits are maintained.
The NJ design features two fixed flanges on the outer ring and one fixed flange on the inner ring. This enables the bearing to function as a support bearing. It supports radial loads and guides the shaft in the axial direction. In the opposite direction, this design allows for axial displacement between the shaft and the housing.
The brass cage guides the cylindrical rollers with precision and is characterised by high mechanical strength. The material is suitable for demanding operating conditions involving vibrations or elevated temperatures. Furthermore, brass runs with low friction against the bearing surfaces, contributing to the smooth operation of the roller set.
The bearing is specified for an operating temperature range of -30 to +150 degrees. Within this range, the dimensional stability of the bearing rings and the function of the brass cage are maintained. The lubricant selected should be suited to the actual operating temperature of the bearing location in order to prevent premature wear.
As an open bearing, this design has no integrated seals or cover plates. It is intended for use in enclosed housing systems where an external seal keeps out contaminants. This design allows for a direct supply of lubricant (oil or grease) and enables visual inspection of the raceways.
The bearing is manufactured with standard radial clearance and complies with tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1. This standard tolerance is suitable for the vast majority of industrial applications. The standard clearance ensures that the bearing operates with the correct operating clearance once it has been pressed onto the shaft.
