The SKF NJ2212 ECP/C3 cylindrical roller bearing offers high radial load-carrying capacity with a 60 mm bore, 110 mm outer diameter and 28 mm width.
The SKF NJ2212 ECP/C3 cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row radial roller bearing with an optimised internal design for heavy loads. As a support bearing, this design accommodates not only high radial forces but also axial forces in one direction. The inner ring has a fixed flange and can be removed from one side, which facilitates the separate assembly of the inner and outer rings. Thanks to its open design without sealing washers, the bearing is particularly suitable for oil- or grease-lubricated housings.
The NJ design guides the shaft axially in one direction, whilst the bearing compensates for thermal length changes in the shaft in the opposite direction. It is primarily used in industrial drives and bearing arrangements subject to high radial forces. The integrated polyamide cage ensures quiet running and maintains a uniform spacing between the rollers. Thanks to its permissible temperature range of –30 to +120 degrees, the roller bearing operates stably even under thermally demanding operating conditions.
The designation C3 indicates a slightly increased radial clearance compared with the standard clearance. This additional clearance helps to prevent the bearing from becoming stressed should temperature differences arise between the inner and outer rings, or should tight fits cause the inner ring to expand. In the design, it should be noted that the running accuracy corresponds to class P6, whilst the dimensional accuracy is to class P0. As the outer ring has neither lubrication grooves nor bores, the lubricant is fed laterally onto the raceways.
This roller bearing has an inside diameter of 60 mm, an outside diameter of 110 mm and a width of 28 mm. These dimensions determine the installation space required on the shaft and within the housing.
The NJ design features two fixed flanges on the outer ring and one fixed flange on the inner ring. This allows the bearing to act as a support bearing, absorbing radial forces and guiding a shaft axially in one direction, whilst the inner ring remains removable from one side.
The suffix ‘ECP’ indicates a polyamide cage and an optimised internal geometry. The cage material reduces the weight of the rotating components, ensures smooth and quiet operation, and is designed for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +120 degrees.
The designation C3 indicates an increased radial bearing clearance. It compensates for thermal expansion caused by heat build-up during operation and counteracts the reduction in bearing clearance resulting from tight fits on the shaft or in the housing.
This product is an open bearing without integrated sealing washers. The lubricant is applied directly to the raceways, which is why protection against dirt and moisture must be provided by the surrounding machine housing.
The bearing combines two levels of precision: the dimensional accuracy of the external dimensions complies with standard class P0 or ABEC 1. The running accuracy is governed by the tighter tolerance class P6 or ABEC 3, which contributes to smooth concentricity.
