The FAG NJ2211 -E-XL-TVP2 cylindrical roller bearing, measuring 55 x 100 x 25 mm, offers high radial load-carrying capacity and single-sided axial guidance when used as a support bearing.
The single-row cylindrical roller bearing NJ2211 -E-XL-TVP2 from FAG, as a radial rolling bearing, primarily absorbs transverse forces. The cylindrical rollers create a broad line of contact with the raceways, giving the bearing high radial stiffness. The NJ design features two fixed flanges on the outer ring and one fixed flange on the inner ring. This design supports axial forces from one direction, whilst the inner ring remains removable from one side for mounting purposes.
This bearing design is used in shaft mountings where, in addition to high radial forces, unidirectional axial loads are also present. Thanks to the flange on the inner ring, the design locks the shaft axially in one direction but allows a defined amount of axial movement in the opposite direction. This facilitates the compensation of thermal length changes in the shaft within the housing. The separable design also facilitates the separate installation of the inner and outer rings.
The TVP2 polyamide cage guides the rolling elements with low friction and is characterised by its low weight. This choice of material reduces inertial forces during acceleration and promotes quiet operation within the temperature range of –30 to +120 degrees. The bearing is manufactured with standard radial clearance and complies with tolerance class P0/PN (ABEC 1). As this is an open bearing without an integrated seal, external sealing of the bearing housing against contamination must be provided.
The NJ design features two fixed flanges on the outer ring and one flange on the inner ring. This enables the bearing to accommodate radial forces as well as axial forces acting in one direction. The inner ring can be pulled off to one side, which simplifies the fitting and removal of the shaft in the connecting structure.
The bearing has a bore diameter of 55 mm, an outer diameter of 100 mm and a width of 25 mm. With these dimensions, the single-row cylindrical roller bearing is suitable for housing bores subject to high radial loads whilst maintaining a compact design.
The abbreviation TVP2 refers to a solid polyamide window cage. This plastic cage reduces friction on the roller end faces and lowers the bearing’s own weight. The material is designed for use within an operating temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees.
The bearing is manufactured with standard radial clearance. This standard radial clearance serves as a reference value for standard fit combinations on the shaft and in the housing, provided there are no extreme temperature differences between the inner and outer rings.
As the bearing is designed as an open type without abiding sealing discs, the lubricant reaches the raceways directly. Protection against the ingress of dirt and moisture must be provided by external housing seals, such as radial shaft seals or labyrinth gaps in the machine’s design.
The cylindrical roller bearing meets the requirements of tolerance class P0/PN, which corresponds to the ABEC 1 standard. Dimensional and running tolerances therefore fall within the standardised basic accuracy requirements for industrial machinery and plant engineering.
