The SKF NJ213 ECP/C3 cylindrical roller bearing, with a 65 mm bore and an outer diameter of 120 mm, offers a high-load-capacity solution for high radial loads.
The SKF NJ213 ECP/C3 cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row radial roller bearing with an inner diameter of 65 mm, an outer diameter of 120 mm and a width of 23 mm. Thanks to its cylindrical rolling elements, the bearing can accommodate high radial forces. Designed as an open bearing, it can be flexibly integrated into oil- or grease-lubricated assemblies. The optimised internal design, in conjunction with the lightweight polyamide cage, ensures even load distribution during operation.
Due to its NJ design, the bearing functions as a support bearing. The outer ring has two fixed flanges, whilst the inner ring is removable on one side. This enables the bearing to accommodate not only high radial forces but also axial forces in one direction. In the opposite direction, the design allows for axial displacement, which compensates for thermally induced changes in the shaft’s length. Typical applications include shaft mountings subject to axial guidance forces acting in one direction.
The ECP design combines an optimised internal geometry with a dimensionally stable polyamide cage. This cage reduces the weight of the rolling element assembly and dampens vibrations. The C3 designation indicates a slightly increased radial clearance. This increased clearance between the rollers and raceways prevents the bearing from seizing up should temperature differences arise between the inner and outer rings, or should tight fits cause the bearing rings to expand. The permissible temperature range is from -30 to +120 degrees.
The designation NJ refers to a cylindrical roller bearing with two fixed flanges on the outer ring and one fixed flange on the inner ring. The inner ring can be pulled out on one side. This allows the bearing to absorb axial loads from one direction, whilst permitting axial displacement of the shaft in the other direction.
The bearing has an inner diameter of 65 mm, an outer diameter of 120 mm and a width of 23 mm. It is a single-row bearing without sealing washers. When designing the connecting components, these dimensions must be precisely matched to the bearing seat on the shaft and housing.
Bearing clearance C3 refers to a slightly increased radial bearing clearance compared with the standard version. This additional clearance compensates for operational thermal expansion or reductions in diameter that occur when the bearing rings are pressed onto the shaft and housing. This reduces the risk of stress build-up during operation.
The polyamide cage guides the rollers with low frictional resistance and is characterised by its elastic damping properties. Furthermore, the material reduces the moving mass within the bearing. In addition to the plastic cage, the ECP design features an optimised internal structure that promotes favourable stress distribution across the contact surfaces.
The bearing is designed for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +120 degrees. This temperature range is determined by the material stability of the polyamide cage and the bearing rings. When selecting the lubricant, care must be taken to ensure that the oil or grease is also specified for the required operating temperatures.
The bearing combines dimensional accuracy in accordance with tolerance class P0 or standard tolerance (equivalent to ABEC 1) with increased running accuracy in accordance with class P6 (equivalent to ABEC 3). This combines standardised mounting dimensions with improved concentricity, which contributes to smooth shaft rotation.
