The SKF NJ2210 ECJ cylindrical roller bearing, measuring 50x90x23 mm, offers a high-load-capacity solution for radial loads with single-sided axial guidance.
The single-row cylindrical roller bearing NJ2210 ECJ, as a radial roller bearing, withstands high forces at moderate speeds. Thanks to the modified line contact between the rollers and raceways, this design distributes stress peaks evenly. With a bore of 50 mm, an outer diameter of 90 mm and a width of 23 mm, this version – featuring an optimised internal design – is suitable for industrial applications. The integrated sheet steel cage guides the rollers and keeps friction resistance low.
Typical applications include bearing arrangements subject to high radial loads and unilateral axial guidance forces in general mechanical engineering. The NJ2210 ECJ cylindrical roller bearing acts as a support bearing in this context: the outer ring has two fixed flanges, whilst the inner ring has one fixed flange. As a result, the bearing arrangement absorbs primary radial loads and also guides the shaft in an axial direction. In the opposite direction, the bearing compensates for axial length changes without restriction.
The NJ design allows for straightforward installation, as the inner ring can be removed from one side. Fitters can mount the inner and outer rings separately onto the shaft and housing. The EC designation refers to the optimised internal geometry for roller guidance and lubricant film formation. As an open bearing without an integrated seal, this model utilises lubrication from the surrounding system and withstands operating temperatures ranging from –30 to +150 degrees Celsius.
The dimensions are 50 mm internal diameter (bore), 90 mm external diameter and 23 mm width. These dimensions allow for the direct replacement of cylindrical roller bearings of the same dimensions in the event of a repair.
The letter combination ‘EC’ denotes an optimised internal design with modified roller and flange geometry for improved load transfer. The letter ‘J’ stands for a dimensionally stable cage made of pressed sheet steel, which guides the rollers during operation.
An NJ bearing has two fixed flanges on the outer ring and one fixed flange on the inner ring. This enables it to function as a thrust bearing, which locks the shaft axially in one direction. Unlike pure radial bearings, the flange absorbs axial forces in one direction.
The bearing is designed for an operating temperature range of -30 to +150 degrees Celsius. As no elastic plastic sealing elements are fitted, it is primarily the choice of lubricant and the material limits that determine the thermal operating conditions.
The component combines standard dimensional accuracy in accordance with P0/PN (equivalent to ABEC 1) with increased running accuracy of class P6 (equivalent to ABEC 3). As a result, this design ensures precise concentricity with standardised mounting fits.
As this is an open bearing without integrated seals, it requires lubrication via the surrounding machine housing. Typically, industrial oils in an oil bath or separately applied greases of a suitable viscosity are used for this purpose.
