The SKF NJ2316 ECP cylindrical roller bearing, measuring 80x170x58 mm, offers high radial load-carrying capacity and acts as a support bearing with axial guidance.
The NJ2316 ECP cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row roller bearing in the Explorer design with an optimised internal construction. Thanks to the line contact between the rolling elements, the bearing can accommodate high radial loads. This open roller bearing has no integrated seals or lubrication holes in the outer ring and operates with standard radial clearance. It is suitable for bearing arrangements where precise shaft guidance and high radial load-carrying capacity are required.
This NJ design is used in bearing arrangements where, in addition to high radial forces, unilateral axial forces are also present. Two fixed flanges on the outer ring and one fixed flange on the inner ring provide axial support in one direction. In the opposite direction, the bearing compensates for axial changes in shaft length through axial displacement. The inner ring is removable from one side, which facilitates assembly and disassembly in the case of separate bearing seats.
The lightweight polyamide cage guides the rollers quietly and reduces friction losses during high-speed rotation. The permissible operating temperature range is from -30 to +120 degrees. The manufacturing process combines dimensional accuracy to Class P0 or ABEC 1 with enhanced running accuracy to Class P6 or ABEC 3. The open bearing is lubricated externally via the housing system.
This single-row cylindrical roller bearing from SKF features an optimised Explorer internal design with a polyamide cage. Thanks to its cylindrical rolling elements, the bearing can withstand very high radial loads. As an open version without seals, the bearing is integrated directly into the system’s housing lubrication system.
The main dimensions are 80 mm internal diameter (bore), 170 mm external diameter and a width of 58 mm. These standardised connection dimensions allow for straightforward replacement during repairs or maintenance work on existing machine designs.
The NJ design acts as a thrust bearing and accommodates axial loads from one direction. The outer ring has two solid flanges, whilst the inner ring has one solid flange. In the opposite direction, the bearing allows for axial displacement to compensate for thermal expansion of the shaft.
The component is specified for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +120 degrees. Within this temperature range, the integrated polyamide cage retains its mechanical properties. When selecting a lubricant, you should ensure that the chosen grease or oil fully covers this operating range.
This bearing combines two tolerance classes. The dimensional accuracy complies with the standard tolerance P0 (ABEC 1) for the external dimensions. The internal running accuracy meets the tighter P6 class (ABEC 3), ensuring low-vibration concentricity and even force distribution.
The separable inner ring allows the inner and outer rings to be fitted separately onto the shaft and housing. This feature makes the fitting process in the workshop considerably easier and simplifies subsequent inspections or maintenance work on the shaft.
