The FAG NU2313 -E-M1 cylindrical roller bearing, measuring 65 × 140 × 48 mm, is an open idler bearing designed to accommodate high radial loads during operation.
The NU2313 -E-M1 cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row radial roller bearing with a 65 mm bore, an outer diameter of 140 mm and a width of 48 mm. In this version from FAG, the design features a solid brass cage and standard radial clearance. The open bearing has no integrated seals, allowing lubricants to reach the contact surfaces unhindered. The unit operates within a temperature range of -30 to +150 degrees Celsius.
This single-row cylindrical roller bearing is primarily suitable for bearing arrangements subject to high radial loads. Due to its NU design, the bearing functions purely as a non-locating bearing, with the outer ring having two fixed flanges whilst the inner ring is flangeless. This allows the component to compensate directly within the bearing, without any constraint, for axial length changes in the shaft relative to the surrounding housing. Typical applications include rigid shaft mountings in general mechanical engineering, where operational thermal expansion must be accommodated.
The cage design and installation conditions play a key role in the design of the bearing arrangement. The brass cage guides the cylindrical rollers stably within the rolling element ring and is suitable for demanding operating conditions. As the inner ring can be removed from both sides, the inner and outer rings can be fitted separately onto the shaft and housing. This considerably simplifies installation and subsequent maintenance work. Prior to installation, the tolerance class P0/PN (ABEC 1) and a suitable external seal for the bearing housing must be taken into account.
The dimensions are 65 mm internal diameter, 140 mm external diameter and 48 mm width. Thanks to its cylindrical roller design and open construction, the roller bearing absorbs high radial forces whilst ensuring precise shaft guidance.
In the NU design, the outer ring has two fixed flanges that guide the roller set, whilst the inner ring has no flanges. The bearing therefore acts as a non-locating bearing and accommodates radial forces only. This allows thermal length changes in the shaft to be compensated for within the bearing without causing any additional axial stresses.
A brass cage offers high mechanical strength and is characterised by good run-on properties. It guides the roller elements stably even under demanding operating conditions and withstands heavy shock loads and vibrations. This makes this type of cage particularly suitable for heavy-duty industrial applications where the guide surfaces are subjected to high loads.
The permissible temperature range for this open bearing is between -30 and +150 degrees Celsius. As no integrated elastomer seals are fitted, the thermal load capacity is determined by the dimensional stability of the bearing rings, the brass cage and the selected lubricant. A suitable lubricant is required to ensure safe operation.
As the inner ring can be removed from both sides, the inner and outer rings can be fitted separately. You can fit the inner ring onto the shaft separately and insert the outer ring, together with the roller set, into the housing. This method makes assembly considerably easier and protects the raceways from damage when the components are brought together.
The bearings are manufactured with standard radial bearing clearance, designed for applications without extreme temperature differences. The dimensional and running tolerances comply with tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1, respectively. This corresponds to the standardised tolerance specifications for industrial use in mechanical and plant engineering.
