The FAG NU2203 -E-XL-TVP2 cylindrical roller bearing, measuring 17x40x16 mm, offers a high radial load capacity as a separable single-row bearing.
The NU2203 -E-XL-TVP2 cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row radial roller bearing for applications involving significant radial forces. The cylindrical rolling elements make line contact with the raceways, enabling the roller bearing to withstand higher radial loads than a ball bearing of the same dimensions. With a bore of 17 mm, an outer diameter of 40 mm and a width of 16 mm, this design complies with standardised mounting spaces.
This rolling bearing is used in designs where primarily pure radial forces are to be supported and axial length changes of the shaft need to be compensated for. As a non-locating bearing, the NU design does not absorb any axial forces. As the inner ring has no guide flanges, the shaft shifts relative to the housing during thermal expansion without generating axial stresses in the bearing seat.
The NU design features two fixed flanges on the outer ring, whilst the inner ring is flangeless and can be removed from both sides. This separability simplifies installation, as the inner and outer rings can be mounted separately on the shaft and housing. The polyamide cage (TVP2) guides the cylindrical rollers quietly and reduces the weight of the moving guide elements in the rolling element set.
The bearing has an internal diameter of 17 mm, an external diameter of 40 mm and a width of 16 mm. These standardised key dimensions allow it to be fitted into corresponding housing bores and onto suitable shaft seats.
In the NU design, the outer ring has two fixed guide flanges, whilst the inner ring has no flanges. This allows the inner ring to be removed from either side. The bearing acts purely as a non-locating bearing and compensates for axial displacement of the shaft within the rolling element set.
The polyamide cage guides the rolling elements evenly within the bearing and reduces the weight of the guidance unit. The material dampens vibrations and helps ensure quiet operation of the cylindrical roller bearing.
This cylindrical roller bearing is specified for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +120 degrees Celsius. Within these limits, the polyamide cage and the rings retain their mechanical properties and dimensional stability.
As an open bearing, the product has no integrated sliding seals or cover plates. It is lubricated with oil or grease via the surrounding structure. The bearing chamber is sealed externally against dirt and lubricant loss by means of housing seals.
The bearing is manufactured with standard radial bearing clearance and meets the standard requirements for modern machinery. The dimensional and running tolerances fall within tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1, which corresponds to a standard level of precision for standard industrial applications.
